USA Today has come out
with a new survey:
Apparently three out of four people
make up 75 percent
of the population
- David Letterman
You can easily find out the number of actual, active subscribers in any group.
That number is accurate.
- It is prepared and publicized by Yahoo, not by the moderator
- There is no way for the moderator to pad or add to the statistics
- It excludes those whose e-mail has a problem of any kind
- It excludes those whose account is (temporarily) inactive
- It only includes those who can and do receive their e-mail right now
- The posted statistics usually show a smaller number than the actual figure, since it takes Yahoo several days to update their records
How do you determine the statistics?
- Check the right side of the group's home page in the Yahoogroups site, under "Members"
- Alternatively, go to the following address: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GROUPNAME.
- For example, the statistics for the Hebrew Translating group are located at
- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hebrewtranslating.
- You are reading the actual number of people who will read your advertisement
- It is not an abstract figure
- It is not a number of click-throughs
How many subscribers are in each group?
- Most groups have between 200 and 800 subscribers
- Groups that reach a larger number are usually split in two
- When that happens, each group specializes in a different area
