Dear Shamash list owners: Shamash is looking to upgrade our list services to provide better service using more modern software to our users. This will require funding and support from our users. New software, hardware, operating systems, and hosting services cost Shamash real funds. Only a single list has contributed donations to Shamash to help support this project in the past year. I would like to ask you personally to donate SOMETHING to support Shamash so we can continue to upgrade our services. We cannot hire someone to send you each an invoice and follow up with payments. We would ask you to make a donation *yourself* and to encourage your list members to do the same. If you are interested in helping with fundraising for Shamash, please contact me at donate@shamash.org. If your list is sponsored by an organization, an appropriate amount to send would be $50 per list per year. If you can afford more, that would be greatly appreciated. If your list is a community based resource, we ask you to send a message to your list and request support from the list members. Encourage each list members to donate $18 or $36 to support the list. You and your list members probably give funds to your synagogue, and other charities annually. We are not asking for large amounts of money, but we are asking for everyone who uses Shamash's services to donate something to support the Shamash project. Shamash needs your donation for us to continue to provide updated software and services to you. We would like to upgrade our mailing list software, operating system and hardware, but these changes require funds from our users, in order to make this possible. Thank you for your interest in making a donation to Shamash in support of our ongoing work to bring Jewish Internet resources to the community. Our mailing address is: Shamash: The Jewish Network c/o Hebrew College Online -- Nathan Ehrlich 160 Herrick Road Newton Centre, MA 02459 You can make your checks out to Hebrew College, which is a non-profit organization and the administrative home of Shamash. If you can put "Shamash donation" into the "comment/memo" section of the check, that would be great! We'll be sure to thank you. -- David Rosenthal, D.O.
