Location and Size of the Codoj Home Zone

The Codoj home zone is located in sector B, very close to the border of sector H. Its nearest major neighbors are the CIIS, the Archean Empire, and the Everton Imperium. The home system of the Codoj empire is a binary star orbited by a ringed gas giant called Neomis. The stars orbit each other, and Neomis orbits the system as a whole. Everything inside the orbit of Neomis is referred to as the inner system, and everything outside belongs to the outer system. Neomis itself is usually classed as part of the inner system, when that distinction needs to be made.

Excerpt from the reports of Ranger Anwar Dahl:

"The home Q-zone of the Coalition of Dominions of Jath is very small, on the galactic scale, being a somewhat asymetrical, spherical volume containing only one binary star system. But when you travel through it, as I have, it seems much larger, in part because with the best technology available in the zone it takes two months to get from the quantum front to the vicinity of Neomis (the single, lonely planet in the Q-zone). Codoj ship-states are quite numerous and can be found in remote volumes of the Q-zone, not limited to the immediate vicinity of their star. Also, because the native sentients predominantly live in zero gravity, their ship-states are somewhat confusing internally, taking full advantage of all available space, and thus appear from the inside to be quite vast."

Population

Some groups of Codoj researchers, especially those from Shehhen, have attempted a comprehensive census of all the sentients inhabiting the Dominions. Their best estimates of the total population of the Codoj Empire range from 7 to 20 billion sentients. There is considerable uncertainty though, and the true population may be even higher due to the number of unsurveyed wanderers.

Major Population Centers

Note: The population centers listed here are actually the largest Codoj 'ships'. They are basically immobile, and are better compared to heavily colonized asteroids or comets, but are the result of centuries of growth and accretion around the most successful Codoj ship-states from the history of the Dominions. Each one is an entire nation in itself, with its own system of government and allied ship-states.

Name Diameter Population Location Politics
Shehhen 498km 2-3 billion L5 of the binary Wonderer
Wanoe 468km 2-3 billion L4 of the binary Warrior
Elgyrae 407km 250-750 million orbits the far side of the binary from Neomis Warrior
Ersoaieusre 317km 225-700 million Neomis' leading Trojan point Wonderer
Bewrbe 326km 100-200 million Neomis' trailing Trojan point Wonderer
Pagdaha 237km 50-500 million ??? occupies point between the two stars neutral?
Amshlitingsa 256km 50-150 million close to quantum wall nearest the binary Wanderer
Amitshe 303km 50-100 million close polar orbit of Neomis Wonderer

Shehhen is the largest ship-state in diameter, although it is rivaled in population (and in politics) by Wanoe. Ersoaieusre, Bewrbe, and Amitshe are all part of an alliance of Wonderers. Amitshe was originally established to study the possibility of harvesting resources from Neomis, hence its close orbit of the gas giant. Pagdaha is colloquially known as "the exception to all rules", or simply "The Exception". Not much is known about Pagdaha, except its diameter and the fact that it retains the crust of its original asteroid, unlike any other ship-state. Amshlitingsa is a major center of trade between the Wanderers and the Wonderers, and is also the largest Wanderer ship-state.
