Ker Frost was never one of Jane's favourite people when she was young. She met him in Meadowood, where he vied for the romantic attentions of Clarity, and was spurned. To indirectly get back at the object of his affections, he took to mercilessly taunting Jane. Jane despised him, as she could do nothing against him since he was bigger, three years older, and better trained. When Jane began to train, Ker upped his verbal assaults, and one day got her so riled that they faced off, ready to fight. However, Jane drove him into the ground without ever swinging her blade, and left him humiliated in front of his friends. Being of sound mind, he didn't bother trying to loathe the girl, but instead called it even. He didn't bother her anymore. After Jane left Meadowood, Ker didn't see or hear about her for a long time. She soon left his thoughts entirely. One day, however, his small faction of wandering soldiers was called into a city to the East on reports of a fire and alleged murder. Ker found Jane there, devastated and lost. He stayed back and took care of her, and when she was back to her old self, he refused to leave even when she threatened to break both his legs. He wanted to make sure she was alright, and so they became good friends and companions. |
