Dean was enamored with speed. As a teenager, James Dean would race
his motorbike through the streets of Fairmount. As an adult, James
Dean was well known as one who revved his engine through the classy
boulevards and quiet neighborhoods of Hollywood. When that didn't
satisfy his need for speed, James Dean took to the race track, where,
as a newcomer, he proved a success.
