Josh Liller's Alternate History Scenario What if WWF had not gobbled up and drove out of business nearly ever territory over the years? Not a pure retro fed per se, but sort of an alternate history one. Do a "universe" with several circuits, circa 2000... WWWF background: Run by Vince Jr, he's still bitter and hates everyone for his failed dreams in the 1980s of going national. As it is, he is THE wrestling mongul of the northeast including eastern Canada. Sportz entermainment oriented. USWA background: the old Memphis territory, still around with Lawler pretty much running things. More old-school wrestling. Does stuff in Tennesse and the Ohio Valley area. AWA background: struggling in the Chicago/Detriot/Minnesota area, but still around because Vince never raided their major stars. Verne Gagne is retired, with Greg Gagne and Eric Bischoff now running things. NWA background: NWA the territory alliance is pretty much dead after Turner bought the strongest part, added the remenants of WCCW and UWF/Mid-South, and let the rest wither and die. Based out of Atlanta where Jim Ross and Jim Cornette run things while Ted Turner is still owner. Somewhere between USWA and WWWF in style, a mix of old style and sports entertainment. Throughout the south, from DC through Texas. PNW background: runs in the Pacific Northwest, including Canada. Weakest of all the territories due to lack of expose compared to the others. EPW background: Extrerme Pro Wrestling, hardcore central out in California. Akin to ECW, with a touch of XPW but with neither Heyman (still managing) nor Rob Black (still just a porn king) in charge of it. It could make for some interesting stuff, especially considering some of the alternate placement of guys (AWA is home to a bunch of geriatrics like Hogan, Austin is DA MAN in NWA, etc).
