Hasta La Vista, Babies
(01.18) Source - E! Online: High-powered heavens! I don't know which is more upsetting - the fact that one of the major glossies is preparing a blood-curdling expos on Arnold Schwarzenegger (that is, assuming Ah-nuld has the red stuff flowing through his veins like the rest of us - trust me, his lawyers do), or that Justin Timberlake is rumored to be ditching *NSYNC.
Hmmm. Which axing do we prefer to penetrate? Easy - the one where the subject's still beautiful, my friends. (After all, I'm as shallow as they come in this town.)
CD interruptus: Latest scoop from 'n the *NSYNC camp is that their next album may be their last - at least for a while. Even though the boys with the burgeoning biceps should have their follow-up to No Strings Attached ready by this summer, the biggest muscle of them all (with the biggest coif, to boot) is said to be hankering for some solo time.
Ditto on Justin's boyish brigade. As the gossip goes, all the band members want to branch out and "do their own thing," as one pair of lips close to the mega-popular musicians spilled to me.
Obviously, some of the independent operating has already occurred. For those of you who don't know the day-to-day doings of these cuties (shame on you), that finagling includes a clothing line for Chris, a new movie-production company for Lance and a reported new babe (as in, the womb kind) for Joey.
Calls to the chart-topper's management were not returned. However, my sources with the pimply poop tell me the primary reason for the lack of togetherness is that Justin's got the biggest independent itch.
Do I smell Britney's multimillion-dollar influence here? Let's call it eau de Oops! Because these same insiders report that Just-babe also has been bitten by the acting bug and wants to follow his g-f (or friend or fiance or whatever) into the celluloid spotlight. Could work. Could be the equivalent of eau de toilet. We'll just have to keep our nostrils on good behavior until we get a whiff of the cinematic results, right? (Same goes for our gal Brit, mind you.)
And behaving just dandy were the two young stars (she in acid-washed jeans, a black-hooded sweatshirt and an orange leather purse, he in more tasteful brown cords) as they walked into Orso in Hell-Ay recently. Just 'n' Brit held hands and looked like a couple who were planning to do the same thing on the threshold of a new Bev Hills mansion. Even though it was just Britney who bought the pad, remember? So, who knows if a wedding march is to follow this real-estate dance?
Posse P.S.: The curly haired crooner chauffeured his gal to the posh Italian eatery - which has more stars than pasta - in a silver Mercedes CLK, while a humongous bodyguard led the mini-caravan in a black Corvette. (How the hell he fit, I do not know.) At least these celebs are knocking that tacky SUV scene that's polluting Tinseltown faster than Schwarzenegger's movies.
*NSYNC's 'Simpsons' Episode To Air February 25
(01.18) Source - Launch: *NSYNC members Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Justin Timberlake will play themselves on an episode of The Simpsons titled "New Kids On The Blecch" airing February 25 at 8 PM ET on Fox. In the episode, boy-band impresario L.T. Smash recruits Bart along with fellow band members and friends Milhouse, Ralph, and Nelson. Just as the band finds success, Bart's sister Lisa discovers that Smash has ulterior motives for forming the group.
Appearing on the longest-running prime-time animated series in the world (according to the Guiness Book of World Records) will undoubtedly be a unique experience for the group. Timberlake was recently asked about his most memorable experience with *NSYNC.
"We've had so many great experiences," he replied, "but the experience that we've had, and the mileage that we've put on all over the world, and the memories - that's what we'll never forget."
*NSYNC joins a long list of musicians who have been caricatured on The Simpsons - including ex-Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Sting, U2, Aerosmith, Sonic Youth, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bette Midler, David Crosby, the Ramones, James Taylor, and the Who.
The Cosmos: *NSYNC Harmony
(01.13) Source - Asylum: Two little planets orbiting Gliese 876, a star only 15 light-years from Earth, have what are called resonant orbits: one takes 30 days to make the trip and the other takes twice that long. Through mutual gravitation, the planets maintain this synchrony. Although four moons of JupiterIo, Europa, Ganymede and Callistoalso have resonant orbits, these are the first full-fledged planets to earn that honor. Until they get official names, we propose *NSYNC.
*NSYNC In The New Year
(01.13) Source - Asylum: Who will be getting your love in 2001? If you said *NSYNC, you're not alone. But here comes the tough question. Which of the fab five is meant for you? Lance? Chris? Justin? Can't decide? We'll help you out. Take our quiz and find out which singer you should smooch!
Speaking of *NSYNC and the New Year, what will 2001 bring for your favorite boy band? For one thing, they're not planning to sit and enjoy their sweet success. In fact, they'll be heading into the studio almost immediately to begin work on their 4th album, due out next summer. And they won't be just standing behind the microphones, either. After the mega-success of "No Strings Attached," the boys are planning to coproduce many (if not all) of the new tunes.
"I just think we have to get creative again and reinvent ourselves, come out with a new style," J.C. explained. Another way to reinvent themselves would be to become movie stars -- something that's been in the works for a while. Their last idea, a new version of the musical Grease will be, according to Lance, their most likely leap to the big screen (along with possible costar Britney Spears).
Your Turn: What would you like to see the fab five do first in 2001? Vote!
WWF vs. Turner, *NSYNC
(01.13) Source - Popcentric: The ticket sales numbers are in for the year 2000. The WWF drew a total of $76 million in 2000 and sold 2.3 million tickets, in about 210 shows. In comparison, Tina Turner led all media drawing $80.2 million playing 95 shows. *NSYNC came in second drawing $76.4 million. The Dave Matthews Band was third drawing a little bit over $68 million.
Backstreet Boys Talk *NSYNC Backstage At The AMAs
(01.13) Source - Launch: After the Backstreet Boys won the award for favorite pop rock band, duo, or group at the American Music Awards Monday (January 8), they were asked by reporters, as usual, whether there is any rivalry between them their Jive labelmates *NSYNC.
Singer Howie Dorough replied, "I went to college with Chris [Kirkpatrick]. I think the media unfortunately makes it try to be more of a rivalry [sic] so we'll be at each other, but in reality, there's enough for all of us out there."
Nick Carter clarified further, "Well, it's not really a rivalry, man. I went to a football game with Chris [Kirkpatrick], a Tampa Bay/St. Louis football game, so there is no rivalry anymore...pretty much."
Kevin Richardson chimed in, "Like we've said many times, it's just in the beginning the way it all started out...our management company, how it all came to be, who we used to be with, who they used to be with--that whole thing. That was hard to deal with."
Grammy Time
(01.13) Source - Popcentric: Unlike the American Music Awards or the Billboard Awards, the Grammys are not just a popularity contest - they aspire to judge actual musical quality. Yet they can't ignore huge sales figures either - 50 million *NSYNC fans can't be wrong, can they? Add to the mix NARAS's recent attempts to make up for its historic reputation for unhip, unadventurous choices; the diverse tastes and backgrounds and ages of NARAS's members; the impossibility of listening to all but a small fraction of the thousands of discs released each year; the ever-increasing number of award categories; and the unspoken need to name performers who will make for a ratings-grabbing awards broadcast - and it's no wonder the nominations seem to suffer from a split personality.
If anything, it's strange that this split didn't occur sooner. Musical style is more fragmented than ever, at least to judge by the Grammys' own award categories; there are 100 now, including two new ones this year (Best Native American Music and Best Pop Instrumental Album). Rap and R&B look stronger than ever this year, but no one earned more than five nominations. Those artists with four include Eminem, Destiny's Child, country stalwart Vince Gill, R&B songwriter/producer Rodney Jerkins, and R&B singer Joe. Seventeen artists have three nominations and not much else in common; they include Sheryl Crow, D'Angelo, Foo Fighters, Macy Gray, Don Henley, Faith Hill, Madonna, B.B. King, Aimee Mann, *NSYNC, Ricky Scaggs, and U2. It's a wonder that the voters could agree on anything.

Rock in Rio Mega Music Fest Kicks Off
(01.12) Source - Excite: Thousands of fans poured into Rio de Janeiro on Friday for the kick-off of a seven-day rock festival featuring some of the world's hottest recording artists, starting with Sting. Promoters booked 139 bands including 38 major national and international acts for the festival that will run from Jan. 12-14 and Jan. 18-21. The $36 million show, sponsored by America Online, will also be aired on satellite broadcaster DirecTV and on Warner Bros. channels. Teen sensations *NSYNC and Britney Spears, scheduled for next Thursday, have been the star sellers, followed by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Spears Unhappy Wtih Director & Timberlake
(01.12) Source - Music365: Pop princess Britney Spears has refused to work with video director Gregory Dark again after discovering that he began his filming career in an altogether different field...porn movies.
Britney renowned for her skimpy outfits has turned her back on Dark, who also goes by the name of Gregory Hippolyte with the full support of her record company, despite the fact that he has already directed the promo video for her single 'From The Bottom Of My Heart'.
The 51 year-old directed produced several films before leaving the porn industry.
Dark is bewildered by the swirl of controversy his past has caused: "Her record company won't use me any more when it came out what I used to do. So I made some porno movies. Big deal. I didn't hurt anybody."
Meanwhile, according to the Daily Star, Britney has had a huge row and bust-up with her boyfriend *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake, over her alleged soft spot for child screen star 20-year-old Macaulay Caulkin.
Macaulay - who has recently been treading the theatrical boards in London's West End was a special guest at Britney's after-show party following her concerts in London in November. Since that evening the two have been keeping in contact via long phone calls and had planned to meet up in Los Angeles later this month.
A 'source' has revealed that Justin is furious over the mutual friendship and phoned Macaulay himself to tell him to steer well clear of Britney. However, when Britney found out what her pop star boyfriend had done she exploded with anger. Macaulay separated from actress wife Rachael Miner last August after just two years together.
A 'pal' of Culkin's added, "Mac is definitely out to woo her [Britney] and he's making progress. Justin has every reason to be worried."
*NSYNC Talks On 'Larry King Live'
(01.12) Source - Launch: *NSYNC paid a visit to talk show host Larry King on his CNN show Larry King Live on Tuesday. Among the topics of discussion were dating, fame and controversial rapper Eminem. Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick revealed that they are the only two members of the group that are not currently dating anybody. King then spoke with Justin Timberlake about his relationship with girlfriend Britney Spears. "She's a wonderful, wonderful person and I'm very lucky to have somebody on the other side of the spectrum who understands all these things that I go through." King then asked Timberlake if he loves her: "Yes, I do love her," Timberlake said. "She's the kind of person that I have a deep, deep love for." King asked the group members about Eminem and J.C. Chasez admitted to liking the rapper. "I have the CD in my car and I play it all the time. I mean, you don't have to believe everything he says - and you know, follow what he does - because he hates us."
Rio Rock Concert Has Conscience
(01.12) Source - Infobeat: *NSYNC, the Dave Matthews Band, James Taylor and more than 100 other performers are among the headliners tapped for Rock In Rio, a seven-day extravaganza that seeks to improve the world while promoting a good time. Officials have already declared a state holiday for the opening day of the festival, which begins Friday. Organizers hope 1.5 million music fans will buy tickets to see the $31 million event, and as many as 1 billion more to see it via pay-per-view television and the Internet. However, as of Thursday, about 500,000 tickets, at the cost of $18 each, had been sold. The concert will open with three minutes of silence for prayer for peace, and the concert's promoter, advertising mogul and promoter Roberto Medina, said TV and radio stations across the country have agreed to join the silence. "I believe that we should be very concerned with the question - not just saying how awful it is or how much violence, but actually doing something to change it," he said.
Medina started the Rock For Rio concert back in 1985. It was Latin America's first major international rock festival and coincided with the collapse of Brazil's 21-year military dictatorship. From its youthful idealism to the rain and mud, Rock In Rio was a south-of-the-border Woodstock. Some 1.3 million people from across the continent turned out to hear groups like Queen, Rod Stewart and Yes. A second Rock For Rio, staged six years later, was less successful. Unlike other high-minded festivals like Live Aid and Farm Aid, this year's Rock In Rio is out to make a profit. All the bands will be paid, and Medina himself stands to clear a cool $2.5 million. But Medina has pledged to give 5% of the gross earnings - expected to be about $6 million - to charity after the festival.
Misc. *NSYNC News
(01.11) Source - Various: Here's some minor news tidbits for those of you who don't know:
~*NSYNC have raised over $100,000 for charities working with abused and neglected children in the US. The money was raised by the group at last year's annual Challenge For Children basketball tournament in New York. Eight charities will each receive a cheque for $15,000. A spokesman for Childplace, one of the charities to benefit, said the group donated the cash after he wrote to their management telling them about the charity's work. He says he invited the boys down to the shelter to meet staff and children but although they were unable to make it *NSYNC did invite 25 children backstage to a show on their No Strings Attached tour.
~Justin, JC, Lance, Chris and Joey - the guys known to all as *NSYNC - garnered over 68,000 member votes to earn themselves the AOL Artist of the Year title. A distant second place finish goes to rockers Creed (40,630); controversial rapper Eminem roped in enough votes (31,975) for a bronze finish.

~NBC's "Today Show" has raised $70,300 with the auction of its Green Room Autograph Book and will donate all the proceeds to Hospice of Palm Beach County, an organization "Today" co-anchor Matt Lauer has been working with for the past three years. The book, which includes more than 650 autographs of guests who have appeared on the show over the past year, including Hillary Rodham Clinton, Muhammed Ali, the members of *NSYNC, Madonna, Al Gore, and George Clooney, was purchased by the Aymar Family Foundation, located in Los Gatos, California.
~Cameron Diaz surfaced in Vail Colorado as did Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Spears and Timberlake almost went without a bodyguard while skiing. While the singers rented skis at a local shop, their security guy's feet were so large that ski boots didn't come in his size. Luckily, they were able to buy ones elsewhere that fit.
*NSYNC And Others To Visit Springfield
(01.11) Source - Zap2It: What do *NSYNC, Frankie Muniz, Kelsey Grammer, Julia Louis Dreyfus and tennis champs Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Venus and Serena William have in common? They are all lending their voices to FOX's "The Simpsons" during February sweeps. The long-running series, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, airs Sundays at 8 PM.
The Williams sisters, Sampras and Agassi all appear in the episode "Tennis The Menace," when, after cashing in an autopsy certificate, Homer uses the money to build a tennis court in his backyard. "Menace" airs Feb. 11.
On Feb. 18, Grammer ("Frasier") reprises his role as Sideshow Bob in "Day of the Jacknapes," which has him training Bart, through hypnosis, to take out Krusty the Clown. Although Bob has a change of heart last minute, Bart is already a pre-programmed killing machine.
*NSYNC members Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake play themselves on Feb. 25, when the band pays a visit to Springfield in "New Kids On The Blecch." The episode has Bart recruited by boy-band creator L.T. Smash with fellow band members Milhouse, Ralph and Nelson. But, just as the band begins to take off, Lisa discovers Smash has ulterior motives.
Other upcoming guest voices scheduled this season include Muniz ("Malcolm In the Middle"), as a child genius on whom Lisa develops a crush, Stacey Keach ("Titus"), Kathy Griffin ("Suddenly Susan"), Julia Louis Dreyfus ("Seinfeld") and singer Shawn Colvin.
**Personal Note: The following is a personal message from Danielle Raabe, posted on the FuMan Board, on the very recent break-up she had with Chris. Although I am deeply saddened from the news of their break-up, I wish them both the best of luck and hope that everything works out for them. This, & the news of the break-up from Chris' mom, Bev [which follows Dani's], will be the only posts I make on this topic because they deserve their privacy with this matter. The only reason I'm posting these is because I think you all would like to know what is going on [if you don't already] & because this is straight from Dani [& Bev].**
Straight From Dani
(01.11) Source - FuMan Board: Oh my goodness, I don't even know where to begin. This will be the hardest post I've ever written so I hope you all can bear with me. First of all, a huge, huge hug to those of you that have responded in a positive way to Chris and I's situation. To read how much you guys care about Chris and our relationship is absolutely unbelievable, you have no idea how much you guys have touched my heart!
I haven't posted anything about our breakup because Chris and I have always kept business and personal separate, but because most of you have been nothing but supportive of us and respectful to me, not to mention the family you have created on this forum, I feel like I can share my heart with you.
Yes, Chris and I broke up. On the business end, I know many of you worry about how the company will continue to run, but please know that Chris and I still care about each other very much and above all else remain best friends. From the beginning I have said that I run this company because I am qualified to do so, not because Chris and I are together, and our current situation proves that. We started this company together and will continue to run it together like mature adults.
I am a strong believer that there is a reason for everything and there is no doubt in my mind that God brought Chris and I together for a purpose. Chris and I know that this company is special and will touch many lives and regardless of what happens in our personal lives we will always do what's best for the good of the company and that means that we put our personal feelings aside.
On a more personal note...I want you all to know how much I care about Chris, if you all can imagine how you feel about him, times that emotion by a 100% and it doesn't even come close to how special he is to me. I can't even begin to tell you guys how much I love him but some things are beyond my control...this whole situation is very hard for the both of us and we are just trying to deal with it the best way we know how.
Chris and I have a connection with each other that most people look their whole lives for and never find, its something very special and unique. Even if we always remain just friends I will be eternally grateful for having him in my life. I have said to his mother that he is the only one for me and if there is such a thing as a soul mate, he is it, but unfortunately at this time we just cannot be together. I hope all of you can continue to be supportive and understanding of our situation. I don't know what the future holds but stay positive. For those of you who have sent your prayers, thank you so much, they are always needed!
With Much Love,
Danielle
P.S. To "deafbusta", for the record I do have another career away from FuMan...I do not NEED FuMan as you said, rather I do it because I have put my heart and soul into this company and alot of hard work and will always finish what I start.
Message From Bev
(01.11) Source - Dax Files: Thanks to all of you who have voiced your concerns for Chris and Danielle over their recent breakup. Danielle has already addressed most issues I might have covered, but there is one thing she didn't mention that I believe is important, so here I go.
Being a celebrity is a very difficult thing. No matter what you read or hear, you still can't possibly imagine how invasive it is to your personal life unless you live it. Chris is a celebrity. Danielle has a very public career as well. Unfortunately, when you combine those two challenges you walk a very difficult path.
I have always found the people who frequent Dax's site to be the best of the best. When you express your concern, it is out of genuine affection for the guys. You don't degrade the guys by speaking dirty or disrespectfully about them. However, there are many outside the Dax fans who are not so generous. I know of countless times Danielle has been unfairly judged and lied about just for loving my son. I even know of hate sites devoted to her. Imagine how this makes her feel. But she never once complained to me. People who hate her for being the best thing that ever happened to Chris are just sorry, selfish people. If you all knew Chris like I do, you'd know how much he avoids the haters. So all those nasty girls who have worked so hard to break them up deserve exactly what theyll get--no love or respect from Chris OR his family.
I'm asking you to shut down the haters. Chris and Danielle love each other very much, and if they're to have even a chance at a life together, it's up to all of you to speak out to those who wish them harm. They deserve your silence in the gossip columns. They deserve your prayers and best wishes. And hopefully, they'll find happiness for themselves. I know Chris like nobody else does, and my personal wish is that he and the love of his life find a way back to each other. Even if they don't, I hope they find peace and happiness they each so richly deserve.
Please, just pray for them. Don't discuss this on-line or even on the phone. Respect their privacy. And you will earn undying thanks and appreciation from us.
Bev
**I will no longer be posting anything that has to do with Chris & Dani's break-up & I urge all fans to respect the two & do the same. I've already begun to hear rumors that the two broke up because Dani cheated on Chris, etc. etc. PLEASE do not spread these! They are disrespectful & untrue. To those of you who are spreading them: You don't know the two, or their situation & I don't either, but I don't presume to judge them & ASSUME what must have happened. That isn't fair to anyone, least of all Chris & Dani, & those two deserve all the love, encouragement, & support we fans can give them. It is unfortunate what happened, & my heart goes out to the both of them. Dani & Chris, I wish you both the best of luck in your lives & hope that you both find true happiness & love, be it together or not...you both deserve that much.**
Awards For *NSYNC, Brickbats For Justin
(01.11) Source - Music365: It's business as usual for *NSYNC, as the boy band have picked up another brace of awards in the US...and Justin Timberlake has been criticised again by disappointed fans.
The band have had a busy couple of days, as they were in Pasadena, California on Sunday (January 7) to pick up the Best Musical Group or Band award, and then on Monday (January 8) the quintet were in Los Angeles to accept the Internet Artist Of The Year award at the American Music Awards, co-hosted by Justin Timberlakes girlfriend Britney Spears.
However Timberlake reportedly angered *NSYNC fans outside the band's LA hotel when he refused to sign autographs for fans. Although other members of the group stopped to chat with their faithful fans, Timberlake is reported to have walked past the crowds, while his bouncers abused fans for 'harrassing' him.
"He was pretty rude," one fan told a US website. "He just blew us off. He just walked past us so when we got angry and shouted out at him, his bouncers turned on us. One of them called me 'a piece of shit'. There's no need for it. He has the fans to thank for where he is today and really, at the end of the day, he's just another boy in another boy band."
Rexrode: Bubbly Boy Bands Put Music Industry Out Of Sync
(01.10) Source - Lansing State Journal: When reigning "boy band" *NSYNC came out with the single "Bye Bye Bye" in March 2000, many in and around the music industry figured (hoped?) that the words would prove prophetic - that the sight of silk-clad youngsters dancing in unison and lip-syncing mindless songs penned by middle-aged Swedish men soon would become a memory.
Instead, they hit No. 1.
At that point, in the cyclical world of pop music, a disappearance seemed overdue.
Yet here it is, nearly a year later, and the momentum carrying *NSYNC and rival conglomerate Backstreet Boys is more overpowering than a herd of 14-year-olds rushing a sale at The Gap.
For an idea of how frightening this thing has become, Backstreet Boys sold 1.6 million copies of the album "Black and Blue" in its first week in November, the third-best opening week in music history - and they were disappointed. You see, *NSYNC had months earlier set the record of 2.4 million.
Combined, "Black and Blue" and *NSYNC's "No Strings Attached" found about 18 million buyers in 2000. In reported gross earnings, *NSYNC topped the industry last year, taking in about $212.9 million (Backstreet Boys were a quiet fifth, with $115.5 million).
Now copycats are sprouting up in every corner of the United States. Commercials, MTV marathons and spots on Larry King Live keep the boy bands in living rooms. Spring will see a new player in the doll market - the *NSYNC's Biggest Fan Barbie, complete with concert T-shirt.
This sort of musical manufacturing with robust profits is not new. But what's hard to believe is the fact that Backstreet Boys emerged in 1997, *NSYNC in 1998, and they show no signs of slowing. Pop predecessor New Kids on the Block owned 1989, hung tough in 1990, and were all but forgotten by 1991.
What in the name of Leif Garrett is going on?
"It's rare," says MSU professor and pop culture expert Gary Hoppenstand on the boy bands' longevity. "If I were a prognosticator I would say they won't be around in 10 years. These bands won't be there, but the form will be there."
Hoppenstand partially credits a newfound slickness in marketing for forging the extended prosperity. It's a frenzy - screaming girls at airports and such - that has prompted comparisons to The Beatles.
There are some minor differences. The Beatles worked their way up by playing dingy clubs in Germany, not playing kissy-face with Britney Spears on the Mickey Mouse Club (as did *NSYNC's JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake).
There's also a slight disparity in ability, although the boys could definitely outdance Ringo. As for their songwriting, it's hard to tell - the bulk of the material for both bands, as well as Spears, comes from Swedish scribes Max Martin and Andreas Carlsson.
"Talent is much more secondary to image," Hoppenstand said. "The performers are really unimportant."
He cites The Monkees as a pre-fabricated music trailblazer. Shaun Cassidy, Menudo and the Spice Girls also come to mind.
In that world of musical cheese, *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys qualify as the Limburger - an expensive chunk at that. And the odor, somehow, isn't getting any weaker.
Keep in mind, this is coming from someone who owns works by such cherished performers as Hall N' Oates and Dr. Dre. A certified critic I ain't.
But I don't think I'm alone in hoping something - anything short of a return to '80s hair rock - will sweep this unpleasant era away. Maybe it's the fact that I've now learned more about boy bands than I feel comfortable knowing.
Unfortunately, more tours and albums are in the works, with plenty of takers. The landscape screams that an end is not in sight. Not as long as America's teenyboppers continue to buy, buy, buy.
Timberlake Angers Fans Again
(01.10) Source - DotMusic: *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake angered and disappointed fans when he refused to sign autographs and let his bouncers insult them, according to reports from the US.
Die-hard fan Kevin Roberts waited in the Los Angeles rain outside the bands' hotel for hours to get Timberlake's autograph for his little sister.
But when Timberlake turned up, he is said to have refused to sign for the handful of fans that had gathered. His bouncers then turned nasty, swearing and shouting at the fans for harassing him.
"He was pretty rude," says Roberts. "He just blew us off. The other guys were all really nice to us. JC stopped to talk and sign autographs, so did Chris, but Justin just wasn't interested.
"He just walked past us so when we got angry and shouted out at him, his bouncers turned on us. One of them called me 'a piece of shit'.
"There's no need for it. He has the fans to thank for where he is today and really, at the end of the day, he's just another boy in another boy band."
Timberlake, who is dating fellow teen popstar Britney Spears, was in LA for last night's American Music Awards.
Just before Christmas, a female fan filed a lawsuit against Timberlake, after an incident in a hotel lobby. He is being sued for false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress
*NSYNC To Go Door-To-Door In Anheuser-Busch Super Bowl Commerical
(01.10) Source - AllStar: As usual, the Super Bowl isn't just about football. It's also about commercials, and *NSYNC, in addition to performing at halftime with Aerosmith, will make its mark on that front as well on Jan. 28.
The boy band has filmed a commercial spot for Anheuser-Busch in which Joey, Justin, Chris, Lance, and JC go door-to-door to thank parents for talking to their kids about underage drinking. The commercial points out that, despite the fact that most kids don't give a rat's ass about anything other than *NSYNC, it's the parents who indeed have the most influence on their children's decision-making (not Joey, Justin, Chris, Lance, and JC, mind you).
The spot will air during Super Bowl XXXV, which in addition to featuring either the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, or the Oakland Raiders, will also include performances by Ray Charles, Backstreet Boys, Aerosmith, and *NSYNC. The game airs live from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. at 6 PM. EST.
