*NSYNC Prep Their Next Single
(8.19) Source - Rolling Stone: Though No Strings Attached was released five months ago, *NSYNC show no signs of slowing down. The hardest working boys in the business added another twenty-two dates to their U.S. tour extending it into early December before planning a European jaunt. Meanwhile, the album is still going strong at the nine-million mark and not one, but three versions of their third single "This I Promise You" is set to hit radio Sept. 18, including an English, Spanish ("Yo Te Voy A Amar") and a "Spanglish" version. Eighties adult contemporary hit maker Richard Marx, who penned the song, will work with *NSYNC's resident writer JC Chasez on the next album. But before any of Chasez's tunes make it onto the next album he will have to face his most important critics first, his bandmates. "That's kind of up to the guys - if my stuff sounds good . . . Right now I'm kind of on a hot streak."
Innosense Found
(8.19) Source - TV Guide: How did Innosense open for Britney Spears and *NSYNC before even releasing a record? Simple: Their original lineup included Spears, and they're managed by Justin Timberlake's mom, Lynn. Still, the girl group doesn't want to abuse their connections. "We were going to do something with Justin on our album (due next month), but we decided not to," says the group's Nikki DeLoach, who met Spears and Timberlake seven years ago as a (yet another) member of The Mickey Mouse Club. Does she reminisce about the pop star's short-lived time with the group? "The funny thing is, when you tell stories, Britney doesn't remember," says DeLoach. "She slept the whole time. That's all she did."
Aaron Carter Comments On *NSYNC
(8.19) Source - Teen People: "I'm not even a fan of Backstreet Boys...I'm sorry. I'm sorry Nick, Brian & the other guys. Actually you know what? If I said this it would be really upsetting, but I'm a fan of *NSYNC. I like *NSYNC. You know, I just like their music a lot more...It's just funner to listen to. The only Backstreet music I like...their music now has achieved more older audience so it's like the younger kids are just like wow...& it's like 'Mom you can listen to this, I'm going to go listen to *NSYNC'"

*NSYNC's Lance Bass On Seeking Out New Talent
(8.18) Source - MTV: In addition to his part as one-fifth of the world's most popular boy band, *NSYNC's Lance Bass has also started his own business, Free Lance Entertainment, which scouts and develops new talent. This weekend, Bass will showcase five acts Free Lance Entertainment has discovered during competitions held at Planet Hollywood restaurants across the country during the past year.
Bass told MTV's Carson Daly that he enjoys working with his company because it allows him to the freedom to seek out talent in places and locales that don't get the media attention of Los Angeles, New York, or even Orlando, Florida.
"It's basically to help artists. I develop them," Bass said. "I'm going out there and searching cities that are usually not looked at much. I get out there and get the raw talent and start artist developing."

*NSYNC Lines Up Fall Tour
(8.16) Source - MTV: Because selling 7.5 million records just isn't enough, the boy band champs of *NSYNC will return to the road in October for the next round of touring to support "No Strings Attached."
This time around, the guys will get things rolling in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 17 and will then trek through the South and East before wrapping things up in California in early December.
Fatone, Kirkpatrick, Bass, Timberlake, and Chasez have been pushing the album relentlessly for the last five months, including a summer tour, a promotional deal with McDonald's, and a host of TV appearances, including an HBO concert special.
The ambitious schedule has been paying off: The album sold 2.4 million copies in the first week of its release in March and has been firmly lodged in the top five of the "Billboard" album chart ever since.
Of course, you can catch the guys before their fall tour when they perform live at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards on September 7 from New York's Radio City Music Hall.

*NSYNC Hit The Road Again
(8.16) Source - VH1: With the girlhood of America well and truly brainwashed by their innocuous pop, *NSYNC are trying to deal with their own dose of road fever. So the extraordinary boy band's road show, which featured a talking head, a podium that went out into the audience, and more creative uses for bungee cords than Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, is coming back to a nearby shed. The latest leg of the No Strings Attached tour begins on October 17 in Charlotte, N.C., and is scheduled to wrap up on December 2 in San Diego. The group members are also going to receive the key to their Orlando hometown today (August 16). Orlando Mayor Glenda E. Hood, who probably can't walk down the street without tripping over would-be boy bands, will present the key.

Danielle Speeks Her Side & Clears Up Confusion
(8.16) Source - FuMan Skeeto: Thanks to all of you who found some humor in that little blurb because when I saw it, I just about passed out!
Now let me tell you the real story! My NY nightclub experiece wasn't a pleasant one. First off, the "China Club" is the worst place I've ever been to. They treat people like cattle and have no respect for anyone. My advice is if you want to have fun do not go there!=)
It all started when I tried to go to the bathroom. My friends and I were getting grabbed by every slimy guy in there and as I was making my way through the club this guy twisted my arms back and who knows what he was going to do next because one of his friends pushed him off of me. Security went to look for him and as we were going back up the stairs a bouncer hit one of my girlfriends in the side of the chest, knocked her back, and said some obscenities to her. Thats where the confrontation took place(which happened to be in front of the VIP section) that the magazine was talking about but it wasn't about not getting into VIP, it was about my friend being hit! Please, if I wasn't able to get into VIP I surely wouldn't be starting a commotion! I'm smart enough to know that yelling at some bouncer isn't going to get you in any faster!=) I especially like how the magazine says they got the story from an "earwitness"...yeah they got the info right, what were they, deaf and blind?!
Our publicist did call the magazine up and tell them the correct story so lets hope they print what really happened! That club should be shut down...its as disgusting as you can get! Well, there's the story! Hope you enjoyed it!=)

Chris Says Some Choice Words
(8.15) Source - USWeekly: "*NSYNC crooner Chris Kirkpatrick didn't quite fight his own battle recently. After the singer's girlfriend, Danielle Raabe, was apparently accosted at New York's China Club, Kirkpatrick and his bodyguard scoured the club for the male offender, wihtout luck. When they tried to get back in the VIP room after their search, one of the club's staffers wouldn't admit them, prompting Raabe to launch an X-rated rant. "She was screaming her head off at the poor guy," says our earwitness. "Chris just stood there and kind of smiled".
Loud and Clear
(8.15) Source - eonline.com: Those *NSYNC boys aren't exactly the shy and retiring types. Just get a load of their gear at the Coyote Ugly premiere. Notably, the best international video category is the largest of all the awards, with a field of 10 U.S. artists vying for the honor. The Canadian music video channel will host its annual awards Sept. 21 at its Toronto headquarters. The MuchMusic Web site will tally votes in the "people's choice" categories, with a different category posted each week. *NSYNC are up in the Best International Video & People's Choice: Favorite International Group categories.
'The Rock,' & *NSYNC Top Teen Choices as Celebrity Teachers
(8.15) Source - Kohl's Department Stores: Substitute teachers aren't usually cause for much excitement - unless they happen to be celebrities. Given the chance to have a celebrity teacher for the day, wrestling champion, "The Rock," and pop singing group, *NSYNC, are students' top choices, according to a back-to-school survey of 300 teens conducted by Kohl's Department Stores.
Nearly 38% of boys surveyed picked "The Rock" as the celebrity teacher they'd most like to visit their classroom, followed by pop singer Britney Spears and golf champion, Tiger Woods, who each received about 19%. Among girls, 35% picked *NSYNC, who might say "It's Gonna Be Me" over runners-up, actress Julia Roberts (19%) and actor Joshua Jackson (9%) of TV's Dawson's Creek.
The back-to-school survey was conducted as part of the new Kohl's Cares for Kids program being introduced in all 306 Kohl's stores in 25 states. As part of that program, Kohl's stores are currently offering two specialty back- to-school items -- a Webster 5-book reference library set and dictionary/thesaurus CD-ROM -- for only $5 each, with all profits benefiting children's hospitals in Kohl's markets.
Kohl's Cares for Kids campaign also features fundraising gift cards for local school and non-profit groups, as well as a scholarship program recognizing kids who contribute in special ways to their communities. Kohl's, a 38-year-old company based in Menomonee Falls, Wisc., is a family-focused, value-oriented specialty department store offering moderately priced national brand apparel, shoes, accessories and home products. Colisuem Screams With Energy Of Pumped Up *NSYNC Crowd
(8.14) Source - Times-Union: "Thirteen-year-old Madeleine Amaru unfurled her homemade poster Sunday and showed it to the crowd around her, prompting shouts of approval. "It's gonna be me," the sign read -- a line from a hit song by *NSYNC. She and a good friend, Chelsea Connor, 12, were on the outskirts of the throng that gathered, ready to lose it, before the doors opened to Music Mania 2000 at 3 PM at the Jacksonville Coliseum. The view out of the main gates was one of chaos, as dozens of teens stood outside in the heat, pounding on the glass doors leading into the arena. About 10 security guards stood by the turnstile. "Battle stations ready?" they cried to each other before letting the crowd in. "Go!"
Fans, the 6,500 lucky ones, streamed in, screaming as they entered the made-for-TV concert featuring a lineup of pop sensations. Outside, would-be concert-goers who came up empty-handed in their last-minute quest for tickets walked away dejectedly. Valerie Kelco, 17, of St. Johns County, collapsed on the ground near a side door to the Coliseum. She and a friend, unable to score tickets, had not given up until the show started. "I just wish that they would have went about selling the tickets better," she complained. "I eat, sleep and drink *NSYNC."
Inside, the scene was manic. MTV and movie star Bill Bellamy, the event's host, pumped up the crowd with goofy antics. It did not take much. Just about anything said by anyone on stage was greeted by hysterical shrieks. *NSYNC opened with its hit Bye Bye Bye, the audience screaming so loudly it seemed like the roof would crack. Caitlin Murphy and Amy Coulson, both 17, of Bishop Kenny High School, forked out $100 apiece for their tickets. Before the show, they sat outside, lamenting the misfortune of ticketless friends.
The show was slick in presentation and glamorous in look. Obviously, much had gone into its organization - though some of the Coliseum staff on hand might have disagreed. Doreen Peacock, a security guard for the last three years, said she had never worked a show where so many employees had so little idea of what was going on. "This may be my last," she joked as people zipped past her post.
During the show, musicians rushed offstage as quickly as they were put on. In a frantic dash into an elevator and down a hall, the performers of Destiny's Child were whisked off to an airplane to Toronto. Walking down a sultry red carpet to her trailer outside, Beyonce, the group's lead singer, chattered about the thrills of performing with so many big names. Even during a technical glitch that halted their performance momentarily, the group kept their fans excited. "It gave us a chance to connect with the audience," Beyonce said. She disappeared into the trailer, sunlight glinting off the sequins on the shiny red dress designed by her mother.
Inside, the crowd was roaring for pop crooner Don Phillip. Allison Clodfelter, 11, a sixth-grader at Darnell Cookman Elementary School, looked almost in disbelief at having gotten into the event. "I am so excited," she said with a big smile. She was far from alone. As 98 Degrees closed the show, the noise in the Coliseum was so loud, so piercing, that many had to cover their ears. Most were too busy adding to the din. Christiana Hazen, 14, was practically quivering. She was with a group of five buddies amidst the chaos. "It's a dream come true," she blurted.

*NSYNC Focuses On Charity, Board Game
(8.13) Source - MTV: The pop champs of *NSYNC may be taking a break from the road right now, but the veritable cottage industry continues to barrel ahead with new projects, charitable and otherwise.
This week, *NSYNC's camp announced that the group had raised $550,000 at its recent Challenge for the Children II charity basketball game. The boy band titans were joined by Queen Latifah, Jordan Knight, Pink, Youngbloodz, MTV's Ananda Lewis, and pro basketball players Dennis Scott, Elton Brand, Stephon Marbury, Eric Strickland, and Indiana Pacers coach Isiah Thomas at the event, which was staged at New York's St. John's University last month.
Of course, there's a very good chance that none of that is news to you at all. If you consider yourself an expert in all things *NSYNC, you'll want to check out the *NSYNC Backstage Pass board game, which will soon arrive on store shelves. Patch Products worked with the members of *NSYNC to put together the game, which throws *NSYNC questions at players as they work their way around the "stadium" collecting members of the group. The game is expected to retail for $24. If you prefer the actual members of *NSYNC to their board game counterparts, the guys will be on hand for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards on September 7th.

An Engaging Mishap With Justin & Johnny
(8.10) Source - pop.thirsty.com: Our thirsty sources have just given us a new twist on the ongoing (and often annoying) Britney Spears and Justin Tiimberlake. According to our sneaky sleuths, the origin of the entire engagement marriage rumor came from a trip that Justin took to a jewelry store with his manager [Johnny Wright] who was allegedly ring shopping for his girlfriend [now fianc].
When they left the store, the jewelry store owners assumed the ring was for Britney and began spreading the rumor. According to the morning disc jockeys on Q102 radio, one of their staff members was sitting behind Justin's manager and his fianc at a recent award ceremony, and overheard Justin's mom commenting on how beautiful the ring was. "Oh, this is nice, but it's a shame it caused my son so much trouble, though." No official word on if this is true, but we here at pop.thirsty.com want to make sure you know everything."
