Scottish Terriers
Urmila's fav History The exact origins of the Scotty is unknown, however it is commonly known that the Scotty came from Scotland as well as the Cairn, Skye, Yorkshire, and Westhighland White Terriers. These dogs were known as Scotch terriers in earlier times. The Scotty was bred to be a fox and badger hunting dog. In 1860, there was the first dog show to have a sperate division for Scottish terriers. John Naylor was the first to bring a Scotty to America. The first registered Scotty in America, "Dake," was registered in the early part of the 1880's. |
