Activities |

The Inne of the Black Larl has one goal in mind. We wish for those who enter our humble abode a time of relaxation and serenity...a place to eat, drink and enjoy the conversations that flow from guest to guest. We strive to create this atmosphere of enjoyment for our travelling visitors...and Schendian's alike...with the addition of various activities. Some are available at all times while others we shall post and send out scrolls. |

Games of Guessing and Skill |
Knucklebones ~ these dice are made from the knucklebones of verr. The marks are painted on to ensure that they are fair and roll equally on all sides. The numbers are named for animals. For example... "Larl" is the highest number or six. "Bosk" is the number five. "Verr" is the number four. "Sleen" is the number three. "Tarsk" is the number two. An "urt" is the lowest number or one. |

Stones ~ a certain number of stone are held in the hand, usually two to five, and you must guess the number. You get a point for a correct guess and you can then try again. If you guess wrong, your opponent gets a turn. The game ends when one person reaches a set number of points, usually fifty. Or you may play by guessing even or odd number held. |

Kaissa ~ probably the favorite board game of Gor. It is a gorean chess game played similar to Earth chess, the object being to capture one's opponent's Home Stone. There are many clubs and competitions. |

Zar ~ a board game common in the Tahari. It is similar to the Earth game of checkers. A kaissa board is used but the pieces are placed only on the intersections of the lines. Each player has nine pieces, of equal value, which are originally placed on the intersections of the board's edge closest to the player. The corners are not used in placement. The pieces used in our inne are pebbles. Pieces move one intersection at a time unless jumping. One may jump an opponent's pieces or one's own. A jump must be made to an unoccupied point. Multiple jumps are permitted. The object of the game is to effect a complete exchange of the original placements. The first person to do so wins. |

Music, Poetry and Storytelling |
Entertainers are welcome to the inne, as the Mistress of the Inne is from the Entertainer's Caste. There will be nights set up on a regular basis where those who have a talent and wish to share it, may come and amuse us with a song or a story, or a musical piece from their instrument. Scrolls will be posted on the Inne walls, as well as distributed throughout the city whenever a date is set. We hope you come to participate and/or to just enjoy. |
