I came here from somewhere unknown,
And have wandered all these years alone.
In a cosmos that is bright with hope,
Where’s my fiercely flowering starry slope?
Where are you place that’s all my own?
That glade I’ve sought but never known?
Where’s the place my friends can walk,
Beside me; as they talk my talk?
Where is there in this universe,
A place where men and God’s converse?
Where hearts don’t ache for things unknown,
And I can rest; at last; at home?
