                      1999 Iowa City Boys Baseball
                           Information Sheet

This is a totally voluntary program.  The boys taking part will be drafted
to teams.  All games are played at the Bobby Oldis Fields at the west end
of lower City Park. The season will begin May 17, 1999 and finish
July 9, 1999.  The game times will be 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. and rained
out games will not be rescheduled.  The Annual Fun Day will be Saturday,
July 3rd with the rain date on Monday, July 5th.

Any boy interesten in playing baseball this summer who reaches his 8th
birthday on or before August 1, 1999 and will not reach his 13th birthday
by August 1, 1999 is eligible to participate.  Players will be divided
into three groups: (1) T-Ball, 8 years old, (2) Junior, 9-10 years old,
(3) Senior Division, 11-12 years old.

The State Bambino Tournament for 11-12 year olds will be played at 
Hampton, Iowa on July 16-21.  We will send a team to play in this tournament.

Iowa City Boys Baseball will host the 11-12 year old Babe Ruth Bambino
Midwest Plains Regional Tournament July 30 through August 4, 1999 at
Bobby Oldis Fields in lower City Park.  This will be a large tournament.
We will need lots of help from many volunteers to have a successful
tournament.  We are required to have host families house all out of state
teams participating in our tournament.  If you are willing to host at
least 2 players, please contact:

The Bambino World Series will be played August 14-21 in Mattoon, Illinois.

Chocolate sales finance our program.  Please help us make the program
a success by encouraging each player to sell chocolate.
