| Chapter One "Rrrring" the phone rang waking me up from my weekly Saturday sleep-in. "Hello." I answered trying not to sound sleepy. "Hi dear!" A voice came through the receiver. "Oh, hi mom!" I said cheerfully. "Got some good news." She said. "Did Paula have her baby?" I asked suspecting something of that matter. "No it's nothing like that sort." She said. "Well, what is it then?" I asked her. "Well, about a few months ago I signed you up on a contest and you won the grand prize." She said. "Wow! What did I win?" I asked wondering. "Well, you won the trip to tour with the Backstreet Boys." She said kind of getting quieter with each word. "But mom, I don't even listen to the Backstreet Boys; I've never even heard any of their songs!" I said. "It has really nothing to do with the Backstreet boys it has to do with you getting some time away from work!" She said sternly "I don't know it seems like you work all the time now and your only twenty!" "Well, if I don't work how will I pay my rent and bills while I'm gone?" I asked her trying to find away to get out of going. "I'll pay them!" She simply. "Well what about when I get back I won't have anything and I'll be way off schedule." I said taking another attempt to get out of going. "I'll get you back I'll pay for you then too!" She said simply. "You must really want me to go!" I said. "Yeah, I do I want you to take a break!" She said. "Mom..." I said taking a big breath "I don't want to go!" "Well, what do you have to do here that is so important besides work?" She asked me trying to prove a point. "You" I said to her. "Do you think me paying your bills and stuff while your gone is going to put a strain on my life huh?" She asked me. "Yeah" I said. "I'll take it out of my savings! I'll be fine it's you that I'm worried about," she said "Lilac, please just go for me!" She asked using her most valuable guilt trip. I couldn't resist "OK" I said giving in. "Okay you've got a day to pack and get ready!" She said enthusiastically. "A day!" I said astonished "Oh, it's not that bad." She said. "Okay." I said sighed "I'll try!" "That's my girl." She said, "I'll see you later." "Bye." I said as we both hung up. "OH, my god." I said falling back on my bed. "Rrring!" The phone rang. I was tempted to not answer it, but decided that it could be an emergency and answered it. "Hello." I said. "Oh, it's me." I heard my mom's voice through the receiver. "I was thinking your wardrobe it not in the best position, right now, and I was think that you might want to go shopping it will be on me." She said. "Sure!" I said. "Meet you in fifteen." She said excitedly. "Okay," I giggled at how excited she was "Bye" I hung up the phone and headed over to my closet and got some sweat shorts and a green T-shirt and put them on and then put my hair up in a tight pony tail. Satisfied with myself, because it was the only thing I had that didn't involve a work blazer, I went to go make myself some breakfast. Then I stopped myself. "If I'm gonna go on this tour I should at lease know who these guys are." I thought to myself. I went over to my computer and turned it on. I went and made myself a bowl of corn flakes while I waited for the whole log on process. "Princess LD" I typed in to check my e-mail. I waited for the man's voice to say "you've got mail" and it never did. I went to aol.com and typed "Backstreet Boys" in the search box then pressed enter. There were millions of hits I chose the first one. When I got there I looked at the address in the address box. "Oh, www.Backstreetboys.com that would have been logical." I smiled. Then a blast of music came on. "Oh my god!" I said quickly turning down the speakers. I click on the slide show graphic design. I went straight to pictures. I looked through the pictures and started to feel better and better about this trip. |
