'Ideas for Poppets'
Now that you have a good idea of how to start your poppet making magicks,
use your imagination. Poppets are so versatile!
You can make a House Guardian poppet and position it at the entrance to your home so that it guards the home from unwanted energies and presences.
You can make healing poppets for those who are ill.
You can make a love poppet for yourself or others to attract and keep love
in their lives.
If you make a wooden poppet, you can place it outdoors to protect your
gardens and plants.
You can even make a poppet from 2 chicken bones, tied together as you do
wood ones, they can be used for many things, such as for those who have problems with their bones.
Listed below are some of the methods and recipes I personally use & have shown others how to use:
Goddess Poppet-
Can be made for protection or for women's issues such as menopause, birth
and conceiving, as a magick tool for aspecting the Goddess or God. A Goddess Poppet can be placed permanently on your altar and is a special gift for any Dianic witch.
Suggested colors: purple, white and silver.
Suggested herbs: mugwort, willow, chammomille, lavender.
Suggested crystals: clear quartz to substitute any other, or amber, coral,
shells.
Suggested symbols: crescent moon, pentacle, the vulva, the spiral.
God Poppet-
Can be made for strength, protection, success, as well as male related issues such as impotence, etc., or simply placed on the altar to honor the God.
Suggested colors: gold, yellow and green.
Suggested herbs: cedar, bark, pinecones.
Suggested crystals: clear quartz to substitute any other, tiger's eye.
Suggested symbols: the sun, horns, the phallus.
Health Poppet-
This type poppet is made for self healing or as a giveaway for someone else
who is ill.
Suggested colors: green and pink, red and green.
Suggested herbs: any healing herb will do.
Suggested crystals: any red or green crystal.
Love Poppet-
To bring and attract love into your life. Can be given as a gift also.
Suggested colors: red, white and pink, or soft lavender and violet.
Suggested herbs: dried rose petals, rosemary, lavender, basil.
Suggested crystals: pink/rose quartz or white coral.
Suggested symbols: a heart, two entwined pentacles.
Money/Prosperity Poppet-
To draw money and prosperity.
Suggested colors: green and gold.
Suggested herbs; cinnamon, basil, patchouly.
Suggested crystals: any green stone.
Suggested symbols: the money sign.
House Guardian Poppet-
To guard your home from unwanted evils.
Suggested colors: black, white, grey and red.
Suggested herbs: cedar, willow, mugwort.
Suggested crystals: jet or onyx and red coral.
Suggested symbols: the anhk; the pentacle; the spiral; the Eye of Horus.
These are just a few of the many poppets you can make. All poppets that represent people should be hidden from sight. Other types can be displayed.
