-Latin American--fastest growing part of the world, doubles in 25 years

-US population doubles in 87-90 years

-Europe doubles in 110 years

-more developed countries (USA, Western Europe, Japan) 20% of population, consumes 80% of resources

-age in US is new problem

-65 years and older is 13-14% of population

-Social Security may not be able to fulfill their needs to reach standard of living of when they were working

-1930's had 11 workers/1 retired person

-today, 3-4 workers/1 retired person

-infectious diseases--40% or more of Americans carry an STD

-American Indians, Migrant Workers,
