  1. Erythropoiesis—production of RBC's
  2. Hemolysis—destruction of RBC's
  3. Sensitivity—gives false negatives
  4. Specificity—gives false positives
  5. Hematocrit--% of RBC's in a volume of blood
  6. Hemoglobin—thing that carries oxygen
  7. Anemia—not enough RBC's or not enough hemoglobin
  8. Platelet—fragments of cells
  9. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate—test for protein in the blood to test for inflammation or infection
  10. Schilling test
  11. Anisocytosis—different shape cells
  12. Poikilocytosis—different size cells
  13. Polycthemia—too many RBC's
