DIVISION OF CHIROPRACTIC SCIENCE

 

CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION:                        A complete review of the diversified adjustive and supportive procedures as taught in previous courses. A review of Basic technique and Basic x-ray marking procedures will also be included. Emphasis will be on performance of both techniques and their utilization in the clinical environment.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:                                 The Chiropractic Science Division offers this course for the soon to be graduate doctor whose technical skills are already developed and who seeks a comprehensive review of Diversified and Basic adjusting procedures and their applications to his daily practice. This course will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and practical laboratory skill development.
Various guest lecturers will occasionally augment the instructor's lectures, demonstrations and opinions in order that the student can be exposed to a more diverse point of view regarding the use of Diversified and Basic adjusting techniques. In addition to instructor's lecture and those of visiting lecturers, class input, questions and discussions will play a vital role in this course.

SECTION III

 

COLLEGE POLICIES

This course will follow the institutional policies and procedures as delineated in the current College Catalog and Student Handbook, i.e. grading scale, attendance, cheating, professional behavior, mid-term and final exams, etc.

 

It is understood that no adjusting or manipulative procedure shall be performed except under the present and direct supervision of a duly licensed and qualified instructor. Unauthorized adjusting procedures performed either on or off campus shall subject the individual(s) so charged to a hearing before the Professional Committee and possible dismissal from Logan College.

 

COURSE REGULATIONS:

 

All questions regarding individual examinations must be submitted in writing within 10 school days. After that time, the matter is closed and the score remains as is.

 

Grades and Testing; Students will be tested by a midterm Written Test, a Final Written Test and a Comprehensive Lab Practical Test. All sections will be totaled as follows for a final grade:

 

Mid Term Written                                    =          40%

Final Written                                             =          40%

Comprehensive Lab Practical                 =          20%

                                                                    =          100%

 

Missed examination will require an acceptable excuse to show "no choice" for eligibility of make-up.

 

The class meetings is as follows:

 

Tuesday periods 6-8 students in Group B report to SB9-10 for Chiropractic Technique

 

Thursday periods 6-8 students in Group A report to SB9-10 for Chiropractic Technique

To prepare the doctor of chiropractic as a primary health provider and to provide service in the field of chiropractic.

 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
