Gary
Sanders
If I'm the one who has bravely gone where no HTML rookie has ever gone before
then my husband, Gary, is the motivation and my inspiration for slaving over a
hot CPU. His quiet courage in battling scleroderma and the scars it's left on
his body and spirit leave me quite breathless at times.
Of course, Gary shrugs off any mention that he is any kind of hero. To him, the
fact that when he had fought this debilitating illness while working two jobs to keep his
kids and family afloat, he was merely doing what he thought he was supposed to do.
Gary has had scleroderma for twenty years now, and though the disease has taken away
many of his hopes and dreams, it has left him with an awareness and sensitivity of himself and others
that very few can match. Those of you who have written looking for a friend or a shoulder to
cry on, or just in search of direction know full well what I mean. Of course, the computer
can be very deceptive, but not in Gary's case. I should know, I met him on the computer.
And the man you get to know through letters and words is exactly the man you'll meet in person.
He's just a lot more shy.
As for his interests and loves? Well, as you can see from this page, he loves airplanes,
military history, history in general (especially WWII and the Civil War), westerns (especially
John Wayne westerns), baseball and all lesser sports, (sorry, THAT little commentary was mine),
his friends, his family, and me, (such a lucky laDy).
Just thought you might like to know,
Debbie Sanders
