The duck standing in the Muddlefoots’ living room was female. She was tall, 5’ 8", and she had medium length straight brown hair. Her eyes were pale green, set in a round face that was pretty and innocent. The guileless innocence in her face was a deceit, for her description was one that eluded the law enforcement authorities of St. Canard during the previous months. No one yet had any idea that there was a team behind the string of incidents attributed to the nefarious Dr. Slug. Or that he was, in fact, only a figurehead. The true leader, the mastermind behind these crimes, was Janeen Featherstone, a twenty-two year old, moving into the house behind the Mallard family. The Mallard family lived next to the Muddlefoots, and Mrs. Muddlefoot, the loving neighborly type, had invited the dangerous criminal into her home for a cup of tea.
