I see you finally made it. Here are some photos I took of Toledo, BGSU campus, WIOT, plus some other places.
To tell you the truth, I am not familiar with a scanner, I guess when I finally get a digital camera the photos will be in better quality.
Oh yeah! I almost forgot, this page will take a little while to load due to all the pictures originally, these files were very big, instead I have the larger pictures available to download. So, if you want a closer or better view, just click on the picture you want to see. But I warn you ahead of time, there are a few photos that are almost a megabyte in size, but I'll warn you which ones they are. Have a good tour!
This is the parking lot view. The station is on the fourth floor overlooking the Maumee river.
This is the WIOT air studio, yes it is a bit of a mess, but there is a saying in America: "A clean desk is a sign of a sick mind."
This is the WCWA air studio , it is a lot cleaner, but the music they play is from the 1940's, 50's, and 60's. The DJ's for this station are ready for retirement, but they love the radio buisness so they stay around.
This is the main production studio, this is where I spend most of the time, the rest of the night I spend in the air studio.
This is the secondary production studio. It has a multi-track digital editor, where a lot of commercials are recorded and mixed.
As you can see, there is not a whole lot to look at on the way to Bowling Green from Toledo. The distance to Bowling Green from Toledo is around 25 miles, I forget what it is in kilometers.
Once you get there, here's a few of the buildings:
This is University Hall, this is one of the oldest buildings on campus it was built around 1925 and it is still in use for class. There is a theatre for plays plus this is the campus post office when you are assigned a mailbox, your letters and packages are delivered here, that is if you decide to live on campus.
This is the Jerome Library, If you need to do research for a term paper, this is the place to go.
This is the chemistry building, most of the upper lever science courses are kept in separate buildings to prevent competition for space between different departments.
I know the picture is a little dark, I don't know what happened during developing or the scanning process. Annyway, this is Olscamp Hall, when you have classes that are not directly related to your major, you would normally have them here, or in University Hall.
This is the music building, if you take classes to learn how to play an instrument or if you are in the school marching band, you would go here for practice.
This is the art building, I have not been in there but I hear it is very nice.
This is the Health building, if you are sick you would go here for treatment. If you are very sick when you go here, sometimes the doctors at the health building would call an ambulance to take you to the hospital.
This is Offenhauer apartments, or in other words its a co-ed dormitory. A friend of mine lived here for a year, he said it was nice but over crowded.
This is the student recreation center, it has a swimming pool, tennis courts, indoor running track, plus much more. It has been a long time since I have been in there, but I was amazed on how much they had inside.
This is Anderson Arena, this is where the ice rink is, in the winter you can watch a hockey game or two, sometimes there are rock concerts here too.
This is the Bowling Green airport, mostly all the planes that fly in and out of here are private owned planes, crop dusting planes, and instructional aircraft, or in other words if you want to learn how to fly a plane, you can.
These photos were taken from the top floor of the Jerome Library, I wish the pictures turned out better than this, the view is totaly amazing.
This is the book store where all textbooks that are used are purchased from here. I took this picture along with the other aerial pictures because I could not get a good shot of the bookstore from the ground.
Well, that is just a small sample of what is in Bowling Green State University. Now, on for a tour of Toledo.
The reason Toledo is called the glass city is because Libby Owens Ford is headquartered here. Also, most of the glass for automobiles made in America is produced here.
Anyway, here's a few photos of Toledo. I did not have much time to take photos, so most of them are taken from inside my car, and while I was driving.
These are shots of the way into downtown.
This is Saint Peter's church, it is one of the oldest buildings in Toledo. I can't remember correctly but I think it is over 170 years old. The next oldest building is Fort Industry Square, this is where the WIOT studios are.
This is Fort Industry Square, the roof timbers in this building were from the original fort that stood on this spot in 1803. Fort Industry Square is a series of buildings that was connected to form one large building, so the actual WIOT studios are further down the street. I almost forgot to tell you, this whole series of buildings are haunted. Since the origional fort timbers were used, the spirits of Fort Industry, have not left, so sometimes wierd things happen once in a while.
This is the Spaghetti Warehouse, its an Italian resaruant that happens to be in an old warehouse, hence the name Spaghetti Warehouse.
This the view from the front balcony overlooking Summit street.
This is the view from the back deck of the radio station overlooking the Maumee River. This is a large file, it is almost 1 megabyte, but worth it.
This is a 180 degree picture of the west side of the Maumee river. This file is a little over 1 megabyte, if you want to see it, it will take quite a while to load.
And of course with every journey, you eventually go home.
This my house and this is my car. I live with my parents and my sister, I know its sad that I don't live on my own, but the way I see it, is that the money I save from paying rent goes to tuition. My car is a brand new 2000 Toyota, ECHO.
Well, that is the tour of my part of the world. I am in the process of finding other places of interest to photograph, if you have any suggestions, please let me know. Also, if you have any questions about the places you have seen let me know. Cheers!!
