*N Sync and Britney Spears Tour: Fall/Winter 1998
Robin's Concert Review

On Tuesday Nov. 24, Jamie and I
went to go see Britney and *N SYNC in Richmond, VA. On the way there we were listening to the radio and they played GMHS and right after that they played Baby One More Time (which is cute and catchy. I like it). I was SOOOOOO excited cos I had never heard GMHS or Britney on the radio before!! We got to Richmond and waited outside the theatre. the teenies kept screaming because the guys were upstairs in a building and Justin and Chris kept looking out and some guy was videotaping the fans outside and the fans said it was Steve Fatone but I doubt it. JC was interviewed on the local radio station but we couldn't hear him cos the screaming freaks and the cars. We got inside and
bought some merchandise. here is what they were selling: Britney 2 t-shirts (a kid's one and a regular one) a fisherman's hat a picture ($10) a keychain ($8) *N SYNC 3 t-shirts (the white one, the black one and a baby tee) 2 posters (the old one from the IWYB single inside cover and a new one of the X-mas CD cover) 5
photo� postcards one of each guy $10 each!!!! the old photo book ($10) a new photo book with pics from the book and dumb info (the picture of JC makes it worth the $15 though) a keychain ($8) a pin a neck band thing with a "backstage pass" a hat and I think that's it.
Our seats were way in the back in the right hand corner. last row orchestra. We were across from Kelly and her mom. The girls in front of us were only 9 years old and they didn't know the names of the guys but they were kinda cute. Made us feel old!!� Johnny Wright came on first and announced Britney and he
saw some sign that some chicks in the balcony made "Sing happy B-day to Kari" and Johnny was like "I can't sing but I'm sure 5 guys would be HAPPY to sing to you". Of course they didn't. Then he said "we have a new catch phrase and it's called hit me baby one more time and the singer is sweet, she's talented and she's sexy. Give it up for Britney Spears!" (or something to that affect) Then Britney came on. The stage was set with a black curtain and two signs that said Britney Spears. She came out with her four dancers and they were wearing dark blue suits and they did a dance number and then took off the suits. Brit was wearing a silver crop top and silver pants and too much makeup. She's still cute and tiny although she's taller than me!!! (according to her single baseball card). her dancers wore overalls and
striped t-shirts (girls) and baggy pants and wife beaters (guys). She sang 4 songs and introduced their dancers. She said her album
will be out in January and the video will be released to MTV this week so call and request it!!�
**10 minute intermission**
Then *N SYNC came on-ON TIME !!!!. They have a new set. They have stairs that they can go up and the stairs have a platform in the middle. The band sits around the stairs and the background was all stars in the beginning when the guys came out in their space suits. they danced to "Star Wars: Darth Vader's theme" and "If". Then they took off the space suits and were wearing red shirts and black jackets and pants. They changed the order of the songs so I can't remember everything so I'll share highlights and
maybe Jamie and/or Kelly can help!! � They sang "Crazy For You", then I just Wanna Be With You, then they � introduced themselves and Justin and JC sang riffs. JC said "I'm SO CLOSE TO HOME I CAN ALMOST TASTE IT!!!!" actually he croaked that since he was losing his voice and he mumbled something about being form Maryland. Next they did the Bee Gees medley and then GMHS. For GMHS the background stars changed to blue.� They sang a few more songs then went off stage to change while the band played solos. Then Justin came � out in a NC shirt and did his little bit box
thing. The rest of the guys came out (JC in a black/dark blue?) sweater vest and cap (like a beret) with matching baggy pants, Chris is a TIGHT black shirt with a button down shirt over that and some weird wrist band things, Lance had on his plaid shirt from the Disney interviews and Joey had on a dark blue/black? Fraternity shirt and a button down shirt over that. They did the beat box and popular medley (Gone till November, Make em say uh
etc.).They sang "I Drive Myself Crazy" and Chris came out and said "Do you guys ever get hyper when you eat too much sugar? well, the guys say when I have too much sugar I drive them crazy so they don't let me have sugar. But ya know what? I Drive MYSELF
crazy sometimes!" and he sang and the others came out. They also sang Giddy up in this set I think and we ran up front to get wet but we couldn't. The lights were swirly and red and really cool. They did You Got it (I think) and IWYB in that set last and JC
had trouble getting up after the backflip and almost lost his pants!!! They went off stage again to change and the band played a solo. They came out in brownish plaid flannel shirts and sang For The Girl (they did the cute chair dance) and then sang Here We Go. JC and lance's side won woohoooo!!!! (the side I was on of course). They left after that and then came back to do TUMH as an encore and then they introduced the band and said goodnight. It
was way cool!!! Go see them if you can and be cool to britney cos I hear people are booing her cos they're jealous!!�
Just a few side notes: the girl in line behind me looked like Nikki and she�was 19 but she liked Justin so I didn't have to knock her off. I only share JC with certain people and you know who you are!!!!� there was a little girl a few rows in front of
us who had on a knit cap like Brit's and her hair in pigtails like Britney has in one of her pictures and it was SO cute!!=-)

Hey everyone!� I decided to write all of you a little concert review, and if you have any specific questions then write me and ask them. =)
The concert was soo much fun!!!!!!!! I seriously had a great time! Sweetbox came on first and she did four songs. I wasn't really paying much attention to her because I was waiting for Britney and *N Sync. Finally Britney came on with her dancers, and they did a really good job! I noticed that Britney was tired, because she really wasn't getting into it as much as were used to. You know how she usually tears up the dance floor, but she just kinda did a few steps here and there. So I think that since this is her first tour she really doesn't know what to expect yet. and it's taking it's toll on her. She looked so skinny. A little to skinny. I am worried but I am sure she'll be fine. She was on stage for about 20 minutes or so. Britney came out at first and did a little dance intro. Then she sang, drive me crazy, sometimes, I was born to make you happy, and baby one more time. She wore tight black pants (I think they might have been velvet but I couldn't tell) and a black halter top with two gold stripes that went up by her arm pits. I know it sounds weird but it looked cute. She also said that her album was coming out Jan 12.....(not dec. 15) and to start requesting her video on MTV because they were playing it now.�
Then *N Sync came on and they looked and sounded so good. they had about four or five outfit changes! And they were on stage for an hour and a half. They first came on with their space suits and did their dance intro. Then they sang: ( I can't really remember the order ) crazy for you, I just Wanna be with you, God must have spent......, TUMH, Here we go, For the girl...., You got it, IWYB, I drive myself crazy, giddy up, Oh Holy night, under my tree, and merry Christmas happy holidays. for their three Christmas songs they came out in Santa hats and they set up a small fire place and two Christmas trees. And they dropped fake snow from the ceiling! it was so cute. they went all out for it! Then they did two super long beat boxes! they were so good. Oh and Justin played a game with the band. he would make a beat box noise and the band would answer. And then Justin would answer the band with a different harder beat and the band would come back and make a sound, and they were trying to out do each other. It's really hard to explain but it was really cute!�
I think that is pretty much it. I had great seats I was in the third row right next to the stage. But I wasn't on the floor I was even with the stage. they were so good and I had so much fun. Oh and for anyone who is going to a concert in the future bring lots of money because there is so much merchandise of both Britney and *N Sync! I spent a ton of money at the concert.� Anyway I have to get going but I will talk to you all later! � Luv,� Kellee B*)
