No One Will Remember You Tomorrow

"No One Will Remember You Tomorrow"
By Beth B.

It isn't such a fine life,
Carrying the banner through it all.
Every day is filled with strife,
Put up with every name you're called.

Deal with it.
Don't fight back.
The day will come when you're the one
Who gets to do the name-calling.
You'll be on top someday,
But for now you have to take things as they come.
The name-calling will pass, but don't let your life.
You have things to do before the next day comes.

It isn't a great way to spend your days,
Lying and cheating to make a cent,
And despite your quite deceptive ways,
By the end of the day you're totally spent.

Deal with it.
Don't fight back.
The day will come when you're the one
Who gets to buy the paper
You'll be on top someday,
But for now you have to take things as they come.
Sell the lousy paper and get on with things.
You need the money more than the buyer needs the paper.

So it seems like a waste of time,
As if you have a choice.
People look at you like you're some sort of grime,
But it's not your fault you have no voice.

Deal with it.
Don't fight back.
The day will come when you're the one
Who gets to look down your nose
At all the little street rats,
But for now you have to take things as they come.
So pretend you don't hear the jeers, or see the looks,
No one will remember you tomorrow.
