One of Van Damme's great succeses was DOUBLE IMPACT indeed. Lots of action for fans
and lots of martial arts for fans as well. Also, Van Damme kinda co-directed this one. In the
showdowns you can see the scenes are by John Woo. Very slo-mo and there is 2-gun action. Very
inspired by John Woo and Hong Kong action movies. Hell, almost the entire movie was shot in Hong Kong.
Van Damme plays 2 characters, that of a dancing/karate instructor, Chad, who is looking for his long lost brother
Alex, who lives in Hong Kong, but apparently Alex is a criminal, but not a bad one, just deals in guns. So
when the 2 meet, it's time for some double fun, action, fight scenes et all etc... and all the rest of it. A
real small summer '91 hit. One of the high's of JCVD's career.
