Austin tells Sami that Carrie returned the engagement ring and it’s over. He refuses to let Sami take the blame, though. He is shaken by a picture of the ultrasound which she shows him. He begs her to tell him what really happened the night he slept with her, but she fabricates the whole succession of events.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Lucas is unimpressed to find Victor determined that Carrie and Austin will find their way back to each other and that he considers losing Carrie is far too high a price for the mistake Austin made.

Celeste is disgusted to find Tony following Kristen. Upstairs at the loft, John tells Kristen (who was knocking at the door) that Isabella visited him, but she tells him it is impossible. He finds a cufflink, which he regards to be proof that she did indeed return. He tells her that he has been released from his vows and that Isabella wants him to love again. They take a walk down by the pier (with Tony not far behind) and wonder whether it’s possible to find love with each other again. They kiss and Kristen tells her that she’s glad she didn’t have any children with Tony. Tony, hearing this, vows that she will never have John’s children.

Jack wants to know why Jennifer is being warned to stay away from Aremid. All Laura can tell him about the place is that Peter’s family had a house there. She thinks he is worrying for no reason, but his instincts tell him he is right. Meanwhile, Celeste consults the tarots and decides it’s time to take matters into her own hands, otherwise too many people will be hurt. She worries when her informant, Mac, tells her that someone in Salem has logged onto the international computer network requesting information on Aremid. She is told the information contained in the file could prove disastrous if it were to be found out. It is Jack, researching at the Spectator. When he goes to get some paper for the printer to print the articles out, Celeste enters and wipes the file. Jack is angry upon his return and is even more convinced something strange is going on. He realises that someone doesn’t want him to know about Aremid. Later, Peter calls Mac and tells him about the wedding and Mac assures Peter he will take care of all the arrangements. Afterwards, Mac reports back to Celeste, who is determined that no one is allowed to go to Aremid.

Hope asks Laura to help her get her memory back. She is sure that once she can be the Hope that Bo knew and loved, then he won’t be able to deny his feelings. Laura isn’t so sure, but agrees to help her immediately. She puts her under hypnosis and she recalls memories of getting ready to sail around the world with Bo. Later, Hope agrees to be a bridesmaid at Jennifer’s wedding. Jennifer warns her that Billie will be a bridesmaid too, and Hope tells her that Bo has decided to stay with Billie.

Sami is determined to ensure that no one finds out that she drugged Austin the night she slept with him. Jamie asks her how she found out about the drug she used as whoever it was could let her secret out. Later, Sami comes across Lynn, who told her about the drug, in Salem Place and begins to panic, as Lynn recalls telling her about the drug. Jamie realises that Lynn has nothing to lose by spilling the beans. After speaking again with Carrie, Sami tells Lucas that Lynn could ruin it for them, just as Lynn learns from Carrie that the wedding didn’t go ahead...

Billie gives Hope her reserved ticket to Shawn-Douglas’ baseball play-off and goes to meet Austin in Salem Place. Austin tells her as much as he can remember about the night he slept with Sami (which isn’t much) and Billie is suspicious - something doesn’t ring true. She tells him he must fight for Carrie, but it will be hard to do so without causing more pain. He doesn’t remember letting Sami into his apartment that night, and they decide if he was that drunk he wouldn’t be in the mood for sex anyway. Billie thinks it’s all to convenient and advises Austin not to underestimate a woman in love.

Carrie tells Lynn that Austin was involved with someone else. Nearby, Lucas is unimpressed about this new threat, while Sami explains that she is surprised Lynn even remembers their conversation about the drug. They spot Carrie and Lynn talking. Lynn points out to Carrie that it takes two to tango, and that she can’t let one mistake ruin her life. Lynn spots Laura and Jonah, who she is running some errands for or something, and rushes back to the hospital before Carrie can elaborate anymore on the situation. Sami and Lucas decide they must come up with a plan to keep Lynn away from both Carrie and Austin.

Billie tells Austin that he only has Sami’s word that she slept with him and that he must check it out and set the story straight. She reminds him of all the hysterical phone calls Sami made to him and her vow to make Carrie’s life miserable. When told about Hope’s return, Austin reassures Billie that Bo won’t walk away from the commitment he’s made to her. Later, Billie reairs her suspicions about Sami to Carrie but this does not change the fact that Austin slept with her.

Austin reinterrogates Sami and finds her story totally different to the version she told him before. When he points this out, she gets upset and he stops questioning her. She realises she must keep her story straight. When Austin gets home, Jonah also advises him that something about the whole sorry situation is not right. Elsewhere, Lucas is satisfied to learn that Lynn and Carrie aren’t exactly friends, and that nothing incriminating was imparted during the conversation in Salem Place, while at the hospital, Lynn makes a point to become Carrie’s friend.

Hypnotised by Laura, Hope has a more vivid memory than ever before about Shawn-Douglas getting his first tooth and Laura sends her to find out if it really happened. Maggie confirms that it did. Laura tells her the memories may just come flooding back. At the baseball play-off, Hope tells Mickey she has newfound confidence that she will reclaim her life with Bo.

Whenever Bo tries to tell Billie about their marriage not being valid, she keeps incorrectly preempting him. However, Hope inadvertently lets it slip out in conversation with Billie. She is devastated and runs off. Bo goes to find her.

Kristen tells Jennifer that John has been released from his vows and that they are rekindling their relationship. She hears of Jack’s wild accusations about Peter and wonders how Tony will react to her and John being back together. They both go to the DiMera mansion to move Kristen’s things out. Peter tells Kristen that he asked Peter to be his best man and warns her that he intends to use the opportunity to get close to her. Peter knows Tony will react badly to Kristen getting back with John. Jennifer has words with Tony and tells him that if he loves Kristen he has to let her go, and that he’s wrong to think that John broke them up. She realises he’s not going to give up on Kristen, though. Tony later wonders how one would commit the perfect murder as he must get rid of John Black.

Jack visits Celeste, sure that she will tell him all about Aremid. She claims to have never heard of the place and tells him to get out. She hopes Stefano gets well soon so that he can help her ensure the secrets of Aremid never get out. Mac offers to arrange a little accident for Jack, but Celeste doesn’t want anyone getting hurt. Mac suggests something which he reassures her will not hurt Jack, just warn him off pursuing his investigation of Aremid. She reluctantly agrees. Soon afterwards, Jack gets a call and arranges to meet someone on Pier 17 in thirty minutes who can tell him about Aremid. He drops by Laura’s office on the way to tell her of his progress and she warns him to be careful. Meanwhile, Mac sets his trap at the pier.
