Jack and Jennifer argue over custody of Abby.
Tony tells Stefano and Celeste about the events of the previous evening, and also that Kristen knows he can see. Celeste again relates her fear of the evil that is present in Salem, and Stefano yet again dismisses it as superstitious rubbish. Later, Stefano goes to visit Marlena, but the door to her closet is stuck, and Celeste takes this as a sign that he shouldn’t. Eventually the door opens and Stefano makes his way across the room. The door closes behind him. He leans over and kisses the sleeping Marlena, and just as he is doing so, she wakes up. Eyes glowing, she wraps her hands around his neck and tries to strangle him.

As Marlena strangles Stefano, Celeste struggles to break through the closet doors. Eventually, she manages to open the doors, but her attempts to help Stefano fail, as Marlena is too strong. Celeste prays to God for help, Stefano is released and Marlena falls unconscious in her bed. Stefano and Celeste are amazed at the woman’s strength. As John and Kristen arrive at Marlena’s apartment, Celeste implores Stefano to leave before they are found, but he is reluctant to leave Marlena. He eventually retreats just as John enters Marlena’s bedroom. An ambulance is called and Marlena is taken to hospital.
Court proceedings are taking place in order to have Hope declared legally dead, so that Bo and Billie may marry. Bo relates how Hope died, and Alice tells the court of her belief that Gina is Hope. Gina’s non-presence at the court worries Bo and Billie, as she needs to testify that she is not Hope if they are to have her declared dead. Alice finds Gina at Hope’s grave. When she does come to the court, she testifies that she is not Hope and the court declares Hope dead.
Kristen visits Father Francis at the
hospital, but the lights go out in his room. John, on his way back to Marlena’s room,
hears her scream.
