As Gina makes progress with opening the puzzle box, she gets a call from one of Carrie’s friends, telling her she is late for the wedding. She rushes off, and Celeste (who actually made the call) picks the lock to the apartment and takes the box. She hides it in a garbage bin in a back alley and returns home. In a nearby back alley, Marlena finds a newspaper reporting the restoration of St Luke’s and vows to oppose the claim the report makes that good has triumphed over evil. On her way to do so, she encounters a blind street lady who offers Marlena her coat when she feels her coldness. Marlena attempts to belittle the woman, but the woman tells her that God has given her wisdom and kindness and she is happy to help the needy. She wanders off and Marlena fights a battle against the devil in her mind. Meanwhile, the blind woman has found the puzzle box.
At St Luke’s, the wedding goes off without a hitch and Bo and Billie are finally pronounced husband and wife. Sami tells Lucas that she slept with Austin last night. At the reception, Kristen tells Tony he is so wonderful for rebuilding the church, and Gina tells Alice that the dream is over, referring to Alice’s belief that Gina is Hope. Sami bumps Carrie out of the way and catches Billie’s bouquet. Gina slips out to the church, where she ponders life as Hope.
In his apartment, Stefano continues to dismiss Celeste’s warnings, and prays that his decoys will be effective. Later, following an instinct of Celeste’s, the pair make for the Penthouse Grill.
A police officer reports to John and Abe that Marlena has been spotted in Miami. Other sightings across the country ensue. Gina returns to the reception and her and Alice head back to the loft, where they find the puzzle box gone.
Bo and Billie slip quietly out of the party and head back to the Fancy Face, which has been decorated in flowers and a “Just Married” sign.
As John tells Abe he has a feeling something bad is going to happen, Marlena turns up to the reception naked.

Austin goes down to the Titan gym to release some of the anger he’s feeling about his current predicament. Jonah finds him there and Austin tells him he slept with another woman. Carrie is determined to have it out once and for all with Sami, and she realises Sami is wearing her perfume.
John covers Marlena with a tablecloth and Laura and Mike arrive and examine her, but she is unreceptive. Pat Hamilton arrives and announces to the gathered crowd that Marlena is the Desecrator and that she is to be arrested. However, Laura, Mike, John and Abe convince her to let them take her to the hospital for tests. Everybody makes their way to the hospital. There, Tony meets with Stefano and Celeste and tells his father that if he is in any way responsible for Marlena’s condition, they will have to sort it out between them. Lucas tells Jamie that Sami is threatening to charge him with statutory rape if he tells Carrie and Austin the truth. Pat orders that a police guard be put outside Marlena’s room.
Tony and Kristen go home and celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Tony gives Kristen a necklace and the couple plan for a happy future with children.
Marlena lures the police guard into her room and after a struggle, she gets hold of his gun and shoots him.

Vivian is bothered by the realisation that she is expected to move back into the Alamain mansion, but she is determined to stay in the Kiriakis household. Kate and Victor later find Vivian breastfeeding the baby, and Kate snatches the baby away from her. However, this is all part of Vivian’s plan to stay at Victor’s side - if the baby needs breastfeeding, then she will have to remain. Meanwhile, Kate and Victor name the baby Phillip Robert Kiriakis.
Peter suspects Jack is up to something suspicious. When Jack and Jennifer record an episode of their show, they interview an expert on perfect love matches, who brings on Jennifer’s fan club. They are unanimous in their decision that Jack is Jennifer’s perfect match. Jennifer is furious with Jack who, though delighted, claims to have had nothing to do with the set up. Peter tells Jennifer that the only way that she’ll get Jack off her back is to accept his marriage proposal. Jack, in the meantime, is hatching his plot to move back into Jennifer’s house.
Gina visits Alice and tells her she can’t find the puzzle box anywhere. However, Alice is ecstatic at the news that she could open one side of the box. Maggie cautions Alice against being to optimistic. Meanwhile, Bo asks Billie to adopt Shawn-Douglas and she agrees wholeheartedly. As part of their honeymoon, Bo and Billie take Shawn-Douglas to Salem Place, where he tells Gina that Billie is going to adopt him. When Maggie and Alice meet her later on, they can sense that she is upset about something and she tells them the news. Alice suggests that Gina applies for a job on the police force.
At Johnny Angel’s, Shawn-Douglas befriends the
blind woman, who wants to give him the puzzle box as a wedding gift for his mother and
father. He is uncertain whether to take it and he consults Billie, who suggests that the
lady might like to keep it because of its value. She does this - selling the box for cash
is a better idea.
