She decides to put on a production of "Romeo and Juliet" and considers that Tony may be able to help har as he was involved with the theatre in Europe. Shawn-Douglas convinces Bo to let Hope stay on the island with them and they enjoy being a family again, but Bo tells Hope they have to tell Shawn-Douglas about their imminent divorce. Hope asks him to pretend things are just the way they were so at least their son will have the good memories of their trip. Billie, who has decided to take Shawn-Douglas’ lucky fishing hat to the island and tell him and Bo about her cheque, comes upon the scene of the three of them singing around the campfire. She does not make her presence known and, deciding she doesn’t belong, leaves the island. Kristen and Jennifer attempt to convince Billie that she and Bo are meant to be together and that Bo and Hope were just trying to make a nice atmosphere on the island for Shawn-Douglas. Billie decides that if Bo doesn’t tell her about Hope being on the island with them, then he still has unresolved feelings for her. Indeed, on his return, he doesn’t mention Hope. Meanwhile, Hope is sure Bo won’t ask her to sign the divorce papers, which have arrived in Salem.

Jack is sure something suspicious is going on when he hears that no one has seen Mark, the man who was going to give him information about Aremid. He tells Sarah that if he hasn’t shown up by morning he’s going to the police, while the Parrot Man says the Lady in White always cries when she takes someone. Mark’s wife says he hasn’t been home in two nights, so Jack fetches the police. However, when they question her, she tells them he’s probably just out hunting. Sarah explains that everyone in Aremid is scared and she thinks that Jack is in danger. She suggests he goes home to Salem, but if there is danger he is determined to find it before Jennifer comes to any harm. Back in Salem, Jennifer decides to go to Aremid so she can bring back for Peter all the autumn delights the place has to offer in order to cure his depression.

Stefano apologises to Hope for all the hurt he’s caused her and is pleased to hear that things are going well for her. He asks Celeste why Aremid upsets her so much. She tells him he spent aome time there with his friends the Blakes and that they died. She offers no more information, telling him that’s all he needs to know until he regains his memory. Peter later shows him the photo of the portrait of the Lady in White and he is quite taken with it. He recalls that Jack showed him a photo of the picture and Peter tells him that Jack thinks he will discover something in Aremid which will stop his marriage to Jennifer. Stefano feels there’s something about the woman in the picture he should remember.

Peter tells Laura that his parents died in a car accident, which was always considered strange as his father was always a careful driver.

Jennifer is furious to find Jack in Aremid and is about to return to Salem when he tells her there’s been a murder, but Jennifer thinks Mark is out hunting and that Jack is lying. She recognises Sarah’s voice as the one who told her that Jack wasn’t in Aremid and, believing there’s some sort of conspiracy, she leaves. However, she returns to settle the matter once and for all and makes Jack promise that if there isn’t a Lady in White he will give up and leave Aremid for good. He agrees, and they hear crying. We see that it is the Lady in White.

Billie hears Shawn-Douglas tell Bo that he can’t help but hope that he and Hope get back together. She confronts Bo about lying about Hope being on the island and tells him he must explore his feelings for Hope before he signs the divorce papers, which are soon after delivered to him for signing. To prove to Billie that she is the one he loves, he goes to get Hope to sign them. Later, Billie finds Shawn-Douglas praying that Bo and Hope get back together. She says goodbye to him and tearfully packs her bags, having decided that it’s best for everyone if she goes.

Hope realises that today is a special anniversary - the day Bo told her he’d love her forever (or something suitably vague and convenient), and when Bo arrives to get her to sign the divorce papers, she’s dressed seductively and has arranged quite a romantic set-up. He wonders what’s going on and she is disgusted that he forgot the anniversary.

Although she initially refuses, Hope eventually signs the divorce papers. Alice delivers a cake to her apartment and she tells her grandmother that the papers have been signed and that she won’t cry over Bo anymore. She packs away everything that reminds her of Bo as a way of eliminating the past.

Billie tells Austin she’s going to Europe to expand Countess Wilhelmina and explains to him why. They say goodbye and she makes him promise that he’ll do whatever it takes to get back with Carrie. She leaves a note for Bo and departs. He finds the note and gets to the airport just as Billie is about to board her flight. He doesn’t want her to go, but she tells him he owes it to himself, Hope and Shawn-Douglas to take a good, long look at his feelings for Hope. He won’t listen, though, and begs her to stay and marry him. He tells her he’ll come after her and find her, but she forbids him to until he’s sure, begging him not to make her departure any harder. She eventually lets her go, telling her he’ll think of her with every breath he takes.

Following Billie’s departure, Austin and Sami have a heart-to-heart about losing the ones you love. Sami notes that she wants Austin to be with the mother of his child just as Billie wants Bo to be with the mother of his child.

Jennifer and Jack find Sarah, who also heard the crying, but Jennifer thinks it was her pretending to be the Lady in White. She is furious with Jack for setting her up and for involving Sarah in his tricks. She refuses to believe anything either of them have to say and tells Jack to leave Aremid for good. Jack refuses to leave until he finds out what’s going on, but Jennifer tells him there’s nothing he can say or do that will stop her from marrying Peter. She goes to leave, but Sarah tells her all the roads are closed because of the fog.

N.B. - This episode marks Lisa Rinna’s final performance in Days of Our Lives. The character of Billie Reed would return to the series almost a year later, played by Krista Allen.

Bo tells Shawn-Douglas that Billie has gone. Shawn-Douglas blames himself, as Billie knew he wanted Bo and Hope back together, but Bo tells him not to. Shawn-Douglas goes to Hope’s and tells her and Alice about Billie’s departure, while Bo goes to the Cheatin’ Heart to drown his sorrows. Hope and Alice feel sorry for Billie and they ponder her noble sacrifice. However, Hope does not feel sorry for Bo because he hurt her. Alice tells her to get over it as there is nothing standing in their way anymore, but Hope refuses to be the consolation prize.

Caroline, Mickey and Maggie arrive to help Kristen with the play at the community centre. Victor also turns up and offers the services of a designer from Bella to design the sets.

The specialist tells Tony there will eventually be no escape from the pain and prescribes some painkillers before returning to Europe. Kristen is delighted when Tony turns up to lend a hand with the play. Victor and John go to the Cheatin’ Heart to meet the carpenter who’s building the sets and learn from Bo that Billie has gone. After the meeting, Victor stays behind to keep an eye on Bo, who manages to get himself into a fight. Victor calms him down and he rides off on his bike in a temper. Victor calls Hope and asks her to come to the bar and meet him. She tells him she can’t help him, but he hopes that if she can think of someplace he might have gone, she’ll go after him. Indeed, ultimately she goes to find him at Green Mountain.

Tony asks Kristen to help him show the kids how the balcony scene in "Romeo and Juliet" should be done. John arrives back and sees the scene being played out. He considers that the dialogue means a great deal to Tony. The rehearsal ends and John tells Kristen, Maggie, Mickey and Caroline that Billie has left. Kristen is terribly upset by the news and goes to call Jennifer, but she is still in Aremid.
