"Oh look, Kristen looks like she could use a hug!" - Billie
Gina is distracted from getting Abbys cup by Lauras arrival home from Chicago. Peter and Jennifer finally set a date for the wedding. Jennifer sees Jack comforting Laura, and Laura accidentally calls him Clark. She apologises, and tells him his comfort reminds her of the Meadows, which Jennifer hears. She asks why she should be reminded of the Meadows. She covers quickly, saying it was just the feeling of being cared for and safe. Jennifer is very annoyed when Jack brings up the subject of Daniel Scott as he promised that he wouldnt. Jack tells Laura that Daniel has disappeared and that he thinks Peter killed him. Later, Peter comments that Jack and Laura seem to be getting closer every day.
Austin calls Billie as she is about to tell Bo the truth. He wants her to come to the church and help him and Carrie with the flowers. When she gets there, she tells Austin about Bobby Lee and New Orleans and that Gina is really Hope. Austin suggests she needs more to go on than the word of a blackmailing con.
Alice is upset with Bo for asking Gina to stay away from Shawn-Douglas. Bo gets angry and decides to take Shawn-Douglas home, but Gina says it would be better for everyone if she left.
Stefano comes around and Celeste tells him that Marlena pushed him over the terrace. She tells him that he was obsessed with Marlena, and that she fought him but she lost. His love and passion corrupted her. He is dismayed to hear this portrayal of a monster. Kristen arrives (Stefano having asked for someone from the family to come and see him) and recommends that it would not be appreciated or taken well if he sent flowers to the Bradys. Later, Celeste is horrified to hear Mike tell Stefano that Peter is getting married in Aremid. She believes that Aremid is a terrible place of pain which contains ghosts from the past and dreadful memories. She doesnt want Jennifer and Peter to there as something terrible will happen.
Everybody arrives at the church. Kristen tells Alice that she feels that John is in danger and that she has this sense of foreboding. Gina sits up the back of the church with Jack. Billie vows to tell Bo the truth after the service. The vigil begins.
The demon and John struggle in the morgue. John is coming off second best for the most part, and he begs the demon not to hurt Marlena and the demon tells John he wants his soul. John tells him hell never surrender his soul and that hell win Marlena back by fighting him to the death. When the demon decides to end Marlenas life once and for all, John begs him to take him instead. The demon does so, and Johns eyes turn yellow.

"Thats it?" - John
Vivian and Ivan are worried when it looks like Mr Panetta, the owner of the vehicle Sami stole and crashed, will not be deterred from pressing charges. Later, disguised as a nun, Vivian visits Panetta at his office. In the meantime, Sami tries to effect an escape of her own. The guard on her door is falling asleep.
A storm brews outside the church during the prayer vigil. There is lightning but no clouds. A bush catches fire and Bo and Mike put it out. At the morgue, John screams to God for help. Gabe appears and helps him cast out the devil once and for all (this process is unbelieveably simple).
Outside, the hail stops, and Father Jansen agrees that its a sign of some sort. The vigil resumes. The congregation pray and John arrives with Marlenas body. Everyone is shocked and think hes lost his mind. He places her on the alter and she comes back to life. Everyone is amazed, but delighted and happy to have Marlena back. John explains to Bo that it was all ONE OF THE DEMONS TRICKS. He spots Gabe exiting the church. John now truly believes that Gabe is an angel. He tells John their time is over and he must now go home and disappears. Mike tells Marlena he wants to check her to make sure she really is fine, and they agree to go to the loft rather than the hospital. Father Jansen turns the service into one of thanksgiving to God for returning Marlena. It pours down rain outside for the first time since Marlena became possessed and John tells Marlena theyre rejoicing in heaven and theyre rejoicing on Earth because Marlena is back.

Mike reports that Marlena appears to be fine, but hed still like her to check into the hospital. Marlena begins to remember what she got up to while she was possessed and wonders how shes ever going to make up for it. Carrie considers that God answered her prayer to bring Marlena back and wonders if her will answer the other one - to bring Sami back? They break the news to Marlena that Sami ran away and later Carrie asks Marlena to be her Matron of Honour at the wedding. However, Marlena is not comfortable with the idea of returning to St Lukes after all the awful things she did there and tells Carrie she cant. Carrie begs her to reconsider, and she eventually agrees on one condition - if Sami comes back, then she wants her to be the Maid of Honour. Later, John brings Belle to Marlena, who is delighted to see her daughter.
Vivian tries to talk Panetta into dropping the charges against Sami but he wont. She explains that Sami came to her convent where she was well and truly back on the path to righteousness before the crash. Panetta says hes honouring his mothers memory by pressing charges. Vivian sees a picture of his mother and gets an idea. She dresses Ivan up as Samis mother - he is the spitting image of Panettas mother. They go back to Panetta and tell him that Ms Brady has returned to look for Sami. They attempt to persuade him to give Sami another chance as it would break her mothers heart if she want to jail.
Ashley disguises herself as a candystriper and hides Sami in a linen trolley. However, while making good their escape, the wheel on the trolley jams and their cover is blown. Sami is carted off to the station, where she refuses to tell the officers anything. They vow to find out who she is.
Panetta finally agrees to drop the charges, but they learn that Sami has already been taken to the station and booked. It is too late.

Marlena is dismayed to learn that many of her patients have terminated their therapy with her. Later, she reads an article about Stefano being thrown from the terrace. Meanwhile, Stefano is pleased to hear that Marlena is alive. Celeste is disappointed to discover that Stefano probably still feels very strongly about her, and tells Stefano that it would be a catastrophe if he were to ever meet Marlena. Marlena finds herself drawn to his room, though. Carrie, passing by, tells her that it would be best to stay away from him. She reluctantly agrees until later, she is drawn to his room again, feeling guilty about being the cause of his injuries, despite reassurances from both Carrie and Mike that it was not her fault.
Vivian panics when she sees Sami and Ashley at the restaurant and hides Lucas under the table. She gives Sami some money to buy a new dress and get her hair done to get rid of her. Sami is still suspicious. Lucas regrets having to hurt Carrie as part of his plan to stop the wedding and Vivian and Ivan realise he really does love Carrie. He heads back to Salem, telling Vivian that Sami better be right behind him.
Billie is determined to enjoy the day in New Orleans as shes convinced it will probably be her last. She resolves to tell Bo the truth about Ginas identity tonight. They have lunch and go back to their hotel room that afternoon and make love. They head back to Salem and Billie learns that Bobby Lee is in confinement for thirty days. She realises she can spend all that time with Bo.
Gina and Kristen arrive in New Orleans to find that visiting hours at the jail are over until three oclock that afternoon. They go to get something to eat in the meantime. They dine without realising it at the same restaurant as Bo and Billie. Kristen reassures Gina that Bo and Billie would have had a good reason for not telling her about the letter. When they get back to the jail, they find that Bobby Lee is in solitary confinement for thirty days and no one can talk to him. They discover, though, that Billie was at the jail last week and deduce from this that Billie must have got the letter and kept it from Bo as well as Gina.
Austin tells Jonah that he hates keeping Samis secret from Carrie and Jonah points out that firstly, Carrie doesnt want to know, secondly, that Sami doesnt want anyone to know, and thirdly, hed be hurting both of them if he did tell her.
