Tyrone tells Austin and Carrie that Sami shot through on him. Later, Emily comes to the hotel with the news that shes decided to go back to her old life, and its all thanks to them! One of Emilys friends, Jill, shows up and tells Carrie and Austin she spoke to a girl fitting Samis description. She goes on to say that Sami said people were looking for her so she had to keep moving. Later, as Carrie blames herself for Samis disappearance, Emily returns with the news of Kates death. After Austin calls Billie for the whole story, they decide its time to return to Salem.
John walks into Marlenas room and finds her naked. She sends erotic thoughts to John. She is reluctant to talk the DA.
Celeste relates her concerns about Marlena to Stefano. She reminds him of the incident when Marlena transformed into Kristen. Stefano is confident that Marlena will clear him. Afterwards, Celeste refuses to talk to Abe and Lexie enters and tells her husband to stop harrassing her aunt. They argue. Later, Lexie finds Celeste on the pier. Celeste apologises for causing trouble between her and her husband. When Lexie tells Celeste that Stefano is evil, Celeste insists that she is fighting something far more evil than Stefano. When Lexie enquires further, Celeste tells her she wouldnt believe her and she doesnt want her involved. She goes on to say that she must go back to Abe - she doesnt belong in her world.
Back at the station, Stefano states that he helped Marlena escape from the hospital because she was being wrongly charged and he intended to get her medical help. He also says that he and Marlena have grown quite close and that Marlena has made her feelings about him quite obvious. Marlena tells the DA that all this is a lie - there is not a shred of truth to what hes saying. Stefano is shocked and dismayed.
Celeste returns the station and tells Stefano the only person who can help Marlena is John and that they must help him - choas, confusion and fear is on its way unless John can stop the demon. Stefano begins to think that she is right. John must be warned, but the only person hell listen to is Kristen. Celeste is instructed to fetch her. Over at the penthouse, Marlena dresses in a sexy red dress, with a view to seducing John tonight.

In order to bring back some memories, Jack shows Jennifer an old home video of them when they first moved into the house. He begs her not to marry Peter. Later, believing Jennifer to be in danger, Jack runs into Jennifers bedroom while she and Peter are making love.
Celeste manages to persuade Kristen to see Stefano. Stefano tells her that Marlena may be trying to destroy Johnand that she may be possessed by the devil.
Marlena is furious to learn that John has invited Caroline and Father Jansen around for tea. Father Jansen gives John a new St Christophers medal. The priests presence unsettles Marlena. The topic of conversation turns to possession. Caroline spots a change in Marlena. She reacts badly when Jansen blesses her. After Caroline and Father Jansen leave, Marlena looks like succeeding until John puts on his new medal. She tells him that she doesnt think the chain is strong enough in a bid to get him to take it off. He considers that she might be right...

"Jack, I made some tea, or would you rather have a beer?" - Laura.
John decides the chain on his medal is strong enough, but thanks anyway. Marlena then reminds him of their marriage and the strong love they shared. Abe calls and asks John to come to the hospital as he is needed urgently. Marlena manages to convince him to return once hes finished there.
At the hospital, John thwarts a suicide attempt, despite the absence of his medal which sits at Marlenas penthouse, where Marlena is setting the scene for seduction. Kristen arrives looking for John and Marlena is very cold towards her. Kristen surveys the apartment looking for anything out of the ordinary. Marlena mentions that John was there earlier, and Kristen wonders why she didnt tell her that when she first asked after him.
Lexie tells John that Celeste is her Aunt Frankie and this is why there is tension between her and Abe. The couple later resolve their differences.
Marlena ultimately ushers Kristen out and she meets John in the corridor outside. He is not willing to hear any of her theories though. He tells Marlena hes going to call it a night and leaves. The demon damns all these interruptions and realises that Kristen is a threat.
Peter is furious with Jack, even though he tries to explain himself. Peter invites Jennifer and Abby to move in with him, while Jack admits to Laura that he had a very hard time of it seeing them in bed together. Laura talks him out of having it out with Peter, who later finds her and Jack in a compromising position. He is a bit suspicious.

Jennifer and Billie meet in Salem Place and they lament Carrie and Austins situation.
When Lucas learns that Carrie called Jamie, he badgers Jamie for more information about her return to Salem and her situation with Austin. Jamie tells him hes doing the wrong thing by Austin and Carrie by not telling them the truth. When Austin and Carrie arrive at the Kiriakis mansion, Carrie implores Lucas to give Billie and Austin a chance. Later, Austin tells Billie why theres a rift between him and Carrie, but she finds it impossible to believe that Carrie would sleep with Lucas, and finds her instincts were right when she talks to Carrie about it. Meanwhile, Caroline draws on her experience with Victor and tells Austin that shed hate for him to look back in twenty years time and wonder what might have been. He learns the truth - Carrie didnt sleep with Lucas, and though he is confused by it, they get back together.
Vivian has a nightmare that Kate has returned from the dead. Caroline warns Victor against Vivian and they hear a scream from her bedroom. Victor questions Vivian about her nightmare. Caroline is still suspicious despite an admirable effort from Vivian to cover her own tracks. Prior to the memorial service, Vivian drinks heavily to calm her nerves and Ivan suggests that she tells Victor the truth, which she considers an insane suggestion. Meanwhile, Kate is pulled out of the water by a fishing boat. She swears revenge on Vivian.
