Hope has gotten herself a job as a bartender at the Blue Moon. She soon accepts a permanent position.
Sami is taken to the hospital by ambulance. When she gets there, she comes to and panics about the safety of the baby. Lucas and Carrie relate their stories to one another and while Lucas realises that Vivian is behind Carrie being sent to the lodge, Carrie realises that if Austin had have answered the phone instead of running after her, Sami would never have tried to drive up to the lodge.
Kristen and John find Marlena and Stefano on the pier and John is disappointed to learn that Kristen thinks Stefano is a changed man. Marlena gets a call from Carrie who tells her that Sami has had an accident and they all rush to the hospital. John and Kristen see Tony at the hospital getting his prescription, but he manages to convince them that he’s there because of Sami’s accident. When he overhears John tell Kristen he has a gun, he goes to the loft and breaks in with the intention of stealing it.
Mike reports that Sami is fine, but she suddenly has a bad pain. The baby is in distress.
Marlena tells Stefano about her history with John. When he asks her if she still loves John, she simply states that what they had is over and John has moved on. Father Francis arrives at the hospital having heard about Sami’s accident. Kristen and John thank him for his concern and head back to the loft, where Tony is looking for the gun.

Tony finds John’s gun. He hides behind a piece of furniture as John and Kristen arrive home. He must listen as they get hot and steamy on the couch until they decide to take it upstairs. He panics as he realises they are going to make love, but is relieved when they don’t.
Lucas tells Carrie he thinks Sami is fighting her love for Austin for her sake. Carrie tells him that she doesn’t think she’ll be able to give Austin up, but Lucas implores her to. Carrie prays to God and vows that if He lets Sami and her baby get through this ordeal, she’ll give up Austin. Mike tells Austin that the next 24 hours are crucial, but if Sami can stay calm, the medication can take effect and the baby will be fine.
Sarah sneaks out of Jack’s bedroom in the middle of the night, but he is able to save her from being caught when Jennifer goes downstairs for a midnight snack. Later, Peter is unimpressed to find Jack and Jennifer having a cosy chat and a snack in the living room. Meanwhile, Sarah is sure that if Jennifer only knew how much Jack loved her she’d come back to him.

Bo is annoyed to learn that Hope has a full-time job at the Blue Moon and that Abe will not take her off the case. Later, Jude asks Hope to strip at the club that night. Bo isn’t happy that she’s agreed to it and she is getting angry with him for not helping out. Jude invites Bo to Hope’s exclusive after-hours performance.
Celeste quits her job at the station, but Lexie arrives and recommends she reconsider. Maggie gives Lexie and Abe some papers to go through to find the person who handled the adoption. Lexie seems to recall a family friend who was a lawyer. She recalls that his name was Murchison, and Celeste hurries to get to him before Lexie does.
Wendy tells Jonah she doesn’t want Benjamin to know who his real father is.
When Jack gets home from taking Abby to preschool, he finds Sarah gone. He finds her in Salem Place and manages to avert her away from Jennifer and Peter who are also there. She still refuses to go back to Aremid, and he agrees to find her a place to stay in Salem as long as she doesn’t tell Jennifer and Peter she’s with him. She pressures Jack to look at the tape he filmed in Aremid. He relucantly agrees as long as they agree to give it up if they don’t find anything on it. However, Jennifer and Peter arrive home unexpectedly and discover them watching it.

Sarah jumps to Jack’s defence but Jennifer is not happy to talk about it. She tells Jack she wants nothing to do with him anymore, but Arnie, the station manager arrives with a new taping schedule that will see them working together day and night because of Jennifer’s impending wedding. Panic ensues when Arnie shows interest in Jack’s tape of the Aremid graveyard.
Peter tells Sarah to go back to Aremid before she gets hurt. He thinks she’s in love with Jack.
Carrie hears Mike tell Laura that Sami’s blood pressure drops and she relaxes more when Austin is holding her hand. She tells Lucas about her promise to give up Austin if the baby lives. Mike reports that the baby is going to be alright. Carrie must now keep her promise. She tells Austin they can’t get back together and she will not be persuaded otherwise.
Celeste manages to access Stefano’s secret files which are in a storage depot, and she manages to reach Mr Murchison before Lexie and Abe.
Laura urges Marlena to take a good hard look at what she’s doing before her relationship with Stefano goes any further.

Murchison refuses to lie for Celeste anymore and tells her he will tell Lexie the truth. She blackmails him into destroying Lexie’s adoption records, and when Lexie does see him, he tells her he didn’t handle the adoption. However, he later calls Lexie anonymously and tells her to check the Hall of Records.
Celeste cannot bring herself to destroy the adoption papers, but eventually she does. As they burn, we see the words "Aremid Township" printed on the paper.
Tony tells Father Francis he has John’s gun. He realises that John’s hatred of Stefano is so deep that he hates him just as much. If Tony can increase John’s anger then Kristen will believe that John will have killed him.
Marlena admits to Stefano she’s begun to think of him as a friend. She realises she’s forgotten to plan Belle’s birthday party, but Kristen points out that it’s not too late to plan one. John refuses to have Belle in the presence of Stefano, so Kristen takes him for a walk while John and Marlena talk. Stefano tells Kristen he would move away if he had to to allow Marlena and her friends to get on with their lives. However, Kristen recommends that he stays so that Marlena can feel completely healed from her possession. Everyone else will just have to get used to it. They agree that it would not be wise for him to organise a birthday party for Belle as John would not appreciate it. Tony hears all this and makes a phone call...
Marlena admits to John that she and Stefano are becoming friends. Later, they take Belle to the pub and find that a party has been arranged. Kristen admits to Father Francis that she fears Stefano may have gone ahead and arranged a party. Everyone thinks it was probably Shawn, but he gets home and says he didn’t.
On their way back to the penthouse, Tony and Stefano stop outside the pub and Stefano sees the party inside. Marlena admits she cannot think of anyone other than Stefano who would have thrown the party and John is furious when she takes Belle and goes outside to speak to him.
