Gina dreams she’s living her life with Bo. She wakes and tells herself it’s never gonna happen. She turns on the television and hears about Shawn. She rushes to tell Bo.

Shawn-Douglas detects a strange smell and they spot hundreds of dead fish in the water, which has turned black. Gina arrives with the news about Shawn.

Kristen begs John to listen to him. She fears the stars could fall from the sky at any moment. She manages to convince him to see if she is right. They come upon the three religious scholars in the park. They tell John the prophecy will come true tonight. Kristen tells the men about Marlena, despite John’s efforts to stop her. They find what she says very troubling. A policeman arrives and tells the group about the bee attack. Kristen and John make for the hospital.

Marlena worries that the scholars may interfere with her plan. She transforms into a panther and attacks one of the scholars, despite efforts to ward it off with a crucifix.

Shawn responds to the medication and Austin is declared a hero. Kristen thanks God that something good has happened tonight. She fears the worst is yet to come. John goes to look for a payphone to call Eric and tell him about Shawn. The scholar is brought into the hospital following the attack and Kristen is warned to be very careful. She decides to go to Marlena’s. John returns from making his call and wonders where she’s gone.

Austin asks Carrie if she’s thought anymore about moving in with him. Jonah’s moving in with Wendy, so it seems to be the best time. She agrees, as Bo and Billie are moving in with Gina - they cannot live on the boat anymore. Gina tells herself she has to get over her feelings for Bo, and Billie knows it’s not gonna be easy

Marlena returns home and changes back into into her real form. Kristen barges in when she answers the door and Marlena denies knowing anything about the panther. Jennifer is doing a special report about all the bizarre happenings in Salem. She discusses them with Peter. He is dismayed to hear about her concern for Jack, who they still haven’t heard from. Peter is sure it’s another one of Jack’s tricks. He tells Jennifer they should go on a holiday to somewhere safe like Aremid. Peter’s parents owned a house there when they were kids and the town is quiet and beautiful.

Alice arrives at the station and asks Jennifer what’s going on - even the experts don’t know. Jennifer tells Alice about Jack’s disappearance and asks her if she thinks it’s a trick. She doesn’t think it is. Peter overhears Jennifer telling Alice she doesn’t want him thinking she still has feelings for Jack. Jennifer tells him that he knows she doesn’t. He tells her the house in Aremid can be ready by tomorrow afternoon. She tells him she’ll think about it. Peter then realises he has business to take care of. Alice is suspicious about what sort of business he could be attending to at such a late hour. He invites her and Jennifer to go with him. Alice feels he’s going to show them he’s really changed.

Jack is at a soup kitchen. He pours his heart out to the woman who runs the kitchen. She suggests that he volunteers to help out at the kitchen so he can sort out his problems by helping to sort out those of others less fortunate than him. Later, Peter, Jennifer and Alice arrive and Peter makes a donation to the kitchen. The women are amazed at Peter’s generosity. They narrowly miss seeing Jack at work at the kitchen.

Kristen begs Marlena to fight the devil. Marlena traps Kristen in the apartment.

John visits Father Francis. later, he gets a call from Kristen telling him she’s given up pursuing the theory that Marlena is possessed. In reality, it is Marlena calling, having disguised her voice as Kristen’s. Marlena’s apartment is trashed and Kristen lies unconscious on the floor. Marlena ties Kristen up and puts her body on the edge of the roof of the building.

John learns from the scholars about the panther attack. The news shocks him and he wonders why Kristen didn’t tell him about it. One of the men recalls that she went to see Marlena and John hurries off to Marlena’s. There, Marlena tells him she hasn’t seen Kristen since the party. She tells him she’s relieved about Kristen dropping her accusations of possession. John wonders why Kristen has changed her mind, and Marlena feels that John thinks she’s lying to him. Marlena says she can’t explain Kristen’s change of mind, but she wasn’t at her apartment. She feigns shock when she hears of the panther attack. She asks why there were religious scholars in Salem and John tells her of the prophecy, and that it is just a myth. He leaves for a good night’s sleep, determined to sort the confusion out tomorrow. In the corridor, John overhears the security guard and another tennant discussing noises on the roof. The guard then tells him that his friend (Kristen) was there earlier. John asks the guard to show him the way to the roof, where he finds Kristen and unties her. He realises that Marlena must have done this to her.

The stars begin to fall from the sky, and Father Francis wakes up and prays to God. Marlena enjoys the meteor shower...

Father Francis brings the levitating Marlena back down to her bed with Holy Water. She then taunts the gathering (which now includes Tony) after she tries to strangle John. John is still in disbelief. Francis explains that he knew of the evil’s presence all along - his stroke was the work of the devil. They all wonder how something like this could happen to Marlena, and Francis suggests that it was because she was vulnerable and weak. John blames Stefano for Marlena’s possession. Kristen breaks the ensuing argument up and John tells Stefano to leave. Kristen and Tony tell Stefano that if he really loves Marlena, he’ll do as John asks. He reluctantly agrees, for Marlena’s sake. Francis goes on to explain that the devil still needs Marlena’s soul to maximise his power. He is ultimately after John’s soul. John vows to save his beloved Doc - he will not let evil win. Francis decides it’s high time for an exorcism.

Lexie asks Celeste why she burned the letter from her parents. Her reply is vague, and Lexie is furious with Celeste. Lexie runs off and Celeste tells Abe that everyone in Salem is in mortal danger. She also goes on to tell him that she’s glad there’s such a good man in Lexie’s life and that it’s best if Lexie avoids her. Abe finds Lexie and she tells him her Aunt Frankie was never the kind, loving person she thought she was. Abe tells her he doesn’t believe the reason Celeste burned the letter was because it contained something bad from the her past. He doesn’t trust Celeste, but he thinks that she still loves Lexie. Lexie, however, is having none of this. She is sure her aunt burned the letter to protect herself.

Celeste is told of the evenings goings-on by Stefano. Celeste agrees that ultimately Stefano is responsible for Marlena’s possession. She tells him it’s out of his hands and to leave the fighting to the priests, but he’s determined to be involved, even if it means damning his own soul to hell.

Austin and Carrie and Jonah and Wendy dance on the rooftop of the apartment building, enjoying the spectacle of the meteorite shower. Wendy and Jonah are happy to see Austin and Carrie back together. They make a wish on the falling stars.

"I am proud and amazed." - Alice

In order to catch Victor’s eye, Vivian dresses in a sexy dress for work. Victor asks her to change Phillip’s nappy. While doing so, the baby pees all over her. Later, while left to look after the baby, Vivian realises that the child is the key to getting closer to Victor.

Jennifer tries to repair the air conditioner - she explains to Peter that she knows how to do it all because Jack never did. Peter and Jennifer rejoice in the fact they have the house to themselves. Alice arrives. She suggests that perhaps Jack isn’t alright. Jennifer says he’s being irresponsible as usual for not letting them know where he is. Jennifer plans to donate clothes to the soup kitchen, and she wants to return to volunteer soon.

At the soup kitchen, Jack admits he’s feeling at peace, but he doesn’t like it. His only goal is winning his wife back. Frasier, the man who took him to the kitchen, asks him if his family is really in danger, or is he just exaggerating?

Alice takes Jennifer’s clothes to the soup kitchen and is amazed to find Jack there. He tells her he’s taking a step back from life. She tells him how irresponsible he’s been and that they’ve been worried sick. He tells her his time at the kitchen is going to make him a better father. Alice ultimately gets angry with Jack and storms out.

Stefano’s lawyer calls Peter and asks for more money. Peter hangs up as Jennifer and Abby are in the room. He takes Abby to school and one of Jennifer’s workmates arrives and tells her their toxic waste story has been pulled because it’s too depressing in light of recent strange goings-on in Salem. Jennifer decides to do an uplifting and positive story on the soup kitchen and has a cameraman sent over there immediately.

Peter returns to Jennifer’s and plans to do something special for her. Stefano’s lawyer arrives and Peter tells him he’ll have the required funds transferred immediately and to get out of his sight.

Back at the soup kitchen, the toilet has blocked and the kitchen faces being shut down until it can be fixed. Jennifer bursts in and realises she may have come at an inconvenient time. She offers to fix the toilet (what with her being a sudden handywoman and all), however Jack has managed to repair the damage and emerges to raucous applause. Jennifer is shocked.

Gina has a nightmare and Bo goes into her room to comfort her. Billie comes upon the scene. She goes to have a shower and Gina tells Bo that in the dream, her partner was in trouble. She mentions the name Carson and Bo tells her that when Hope was a rookie, she busted a man named Carson. They fob it off as another implanted memory and Gina goes to work all flustered. Bo joins Billie in the shower. She admits to him she’s a little uncomfortable around Gina. She’s not sure why, but is sure she’ll get over it.

Billie goes over to the Kiriakis mansion and tells Victor her suspicions about Vivian. Victor thinks Billie is exaggerating and tells her that Vivian is just an old friend and that they have to respect her for what she’s done. Billie then tells him about her suspicions about Gina. Victor tells her to take the rest of the day off to do something romantic with her husband.

When Bo gets to work, he reads up on the Carson file. One of Gina’s colleagues (Craig?) asks Bo to set him up with her. Bo tells him that he’ll have to do it himself, so he does. Gina turns down the offer of a date. Billie arrives at the police station with a picnic basket, intent on lunching with Bo. While Bo goes to finish something off, Craig asks Billie to put in a good word for him with Gina and she agrees wholeheartedly. She suggests to Gina that the four of them go out to dinner tonight, and she agrees, somewhat taken aback at being thrown into her position. Billie asks Bo why he didn’t help Craig out and he says that perhaps he’s not the right guy.

Alice visits Gina at the station. Gina admits to her she doesn’t particularly want to go on the date and that she’s just doing it to keep Billie happy. They find a picture of the puzzlebox. They realise it must have been stolen from the pawn shop and Alice implores Gina to do everything she can to find it. She’s sure it holds the answer to Gina’s identity.
