Music
(More being added
all the time!)

- An amazingly talented performer, blending her
ethereal and moody vocals with delicate classical
piano, and lots of imagery. She has a very unique
sound, and her writing often has a "stream
of consciousness" quality.
-

- A fun, but very often bitter trio.
Their first album was simply awesome. Their new
one is fairly good, with songs like
"Brick," "Kate," "Battle
of Who Could Care Less," and my personal
favorite, "Cigarette." (A very brief,
but insanely funny look at a dysfunctional
couple.)
-

Bjork
- Her music is extremely textural. She delves
deeply into techno, but can never completely be
categorized. Very diverse, and always lots of
fun. Her songs are an escapist fantasy into an
icelandic world of shapes.
-

Sarah McLachlan
- One of the most angelic voices I
have ever heard. She's a pretty good guitarist
and pianist, too. :) Founder of the Lilith Fair,
and a wonderful songwriter and performer. Her
voice started the "vulnerable female
singer/songwriter" trend of the 90's.
-

Sixpence None the Richer
- An absolutely brilliant christian
band. They are finally starting to get the
recognition they deserve. This year, THEY ARE
PLAYING THE LILITH FAIR!!!!! :) Their songs are
very intelligent, and eloquently written. This is
what music should sound like.
-

They
Might Be Giants
- Oh come on! What do you mean
"you don't own any of their albums?" Go
buy one! RIGHT NOW!!! They have written over 300
songs, all of them clever, satirical, or just
plain thought-provoking. Definitely one of my
VERY favorite bands. And there is MUCH more to
them than "Particle Man" and
"Istanbul," believe me! :)
-

The World Wide Message Tribe
- This techno group is doing great
things in Mancester. They are ministering to
local schools (and the world) with their unique
brand of "cookie monster rap" and
frantic techno. Their live show is truly bliss.
If that doesn't get you up off the floor, your
feet are wired incorrectly.
