Kento, there is nothing more we can do. We've called everyone that we can think of and searched everywhere. Now we have to wait." Said an exasperated and frustrated Rowen. Ever since Sage turned up missing the day before yesterday.... he thought. After franticly searching for Sage all that they'd found out was that he'd probably fallen in the river, and that he didn't have his armor. "Rowen we just gotta do something, staying at the cabin won't help Sage" whined Kento. "We have to be patient" said Sai, coming in with tea," and Sage is a survivor, he'll come back to us."
"Wake up, dreamer" fairly growled Cale. Since he'd dragged Sage out of the river that meant that Sage was his responsibility and so he had to play nursemaid. This is so not fair, thought Cale to himself. Natailia, the former-warlords "Companion" had done all she could and Sage still had about three days before he'd be well. Nat is more of a babysitter than a companion in my opinion, thought Cale as he semi-gently shook Sage to wake him. "Sai....I gotta find Rowen" Muttered Sage. Sage had had some pain-killers that were netherworld remedies and was disoriented to the moon. "Ugh, Sage your friends are not here. You are in a cabin in the middle of the woods. You fell in the river and are seriously wounded. Do you understand?" Briefed Cale. Sage blinked the rest of the way awake. His mind raced. The river. Oh yes, I remember, he thought, he was looking for....Rowen, yes he was sure of it. Following flute melodies. Then a somewhat more recent memory surfaced. "What are YOU doing in the mortal realm? Kayura and the others are supposed to be in the netherealm. Leaving us alone" Gasped Sage viciously. "We have business here," stated Cale sharply, "I will go and get Nat so she can help you heal, and I will return later with food." For some strange reason Sage didn't want Cale to leave. "Cale," Sage whispered as a wave of pain struck his chest. "What?" Asked Cale, feeling like there was something he was supposed to do. "Stay for just a minute, I know it sounds weird, but for some strange reason I want you to stay here" Sage winced, knowing that he was going to regret being so sentimental later. "Um, sure" Said Cale uncertainly, he'd never had to deal with this kind of thing before and he was unsure of what to do. "Tell me how you became a warlord" Sage asked, catching himself off guard. Sage winced as more pain flooded him. Why am I acting so trusting and babyish, he asked himself. "I, uh, don't know. I haven't many memories of before the Dynasty" Cale replied gruffly as Sage twisted in agony. Cale thought that Sage could use some rest. "Please get my friends." Sage pleaded. "I will. Here this will help." Said Cale as he placed a hand on Sage's forehead. Sage felt a comforting darkness envelope him as the pain left and he faded into sleep.
At the lake Ryo was making phone calls while tring to ignore Rowen trying to calm Kento down. Just as Kento was about to go ballistic there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it!" yelled Kento as he raced to the door. He opened the door to reveal two men standing there. One had green hair and large crystal eyes that reminded one of a serpent. The other had dark bluish black hair and a large scar over one eye. "Who are you?" asked Kento bluntly. "You have to promise us you won't fight us." Said the blue haired one. "Wasn't planning on it" Said Kento as Rowen and Sai sauntered up to the door. "I'm Cale, and this is Sekhmet." "What are you doing here? You are supposed to be fixing the netherealm." Said Rowen. "We were sent here to repair part of the mortal realm" Said Sekhmet." But that is not why we came to you." "Well, then why did you come?" glared Sai. The warlords and Ronins were not on good terms, even though the fighting had ended. "Sage," stated Cale. "He fell in the river and is recooperating with us. He requests your presence." "Yeah every word out of his mouth is either about his ribs or you guys. We figured it'd help him out to see a friendly face," said Sekhmet. "What would you know about friendly?" asked Kento. "Not much, or we wouldn't have come to you. Sage can't come here, due to injuries. You shall have to go to him." "Why would we go anywhere with you?" asked Rowen. "Because you are worried about Sage, I presume. Besides what reason would we have to lay a trap?" asked Cale. "We'll discuss it." said Sai, with hope in his eyes. "Well if you're gonna take your precios time working out why to came with us or stay here we'll return later." said Sekhmet. "No we'll send Dais."said Cale. Kento blinked. And with that Cale and Sekhmet turned and walked away leaving stunned Ronins to stare. "Well I just got off the phone and no sign of Sage!" yelled Ryo. "Um, Ryo come here." yelled Sai. "Yeah, we gotta talk." bellowed Kento. |
