Episode Plot

The episode takes place 2 days after Sheridan's return. The episode opens with a "Babcom news update" given by Ivanova, informing the people about the Vorlons' attacks. Sheridan and Lorien walk along in the docking bay. There is a general unrest in the bay, and many people consider Sheridan to be the "secong coming," the one who will save them all. Sheridan stops to help a distresses woman, then continues along his way

Zack enters Garibaldi's quarters to find him watching videos of Lorien. Zack asks what Garibaldi is doing, and Michael tells him that he doesn't trust Lorien. Garibaldi also says he is upset that Sheridan was accepted without question while he is being scanned and probed by everyone. Garibaldi continues to say that he is upset that Sheridan doesn't confide in him now. Zack informs Garibaldi that he can go back to work as soon as Franklin finishes his tests. Garibaldi is somewhat relieved.

On Centauri Prime, Cartagia observes the night sky and invites Londo to walk with him. Mr. Morden also shows up. Morden tells Londo of his concerns about the Vorlon fleet, and requests that Centauri warships form a blockade to protect Centauri Prime, and, the Shadows on the planet. Londo strongly opposes the idea. Londo is outraged by the request, and refuses to send ships. Cartagia agrees, for a different reason. Cartagia likes Londo a great deal, enough to take Mollari to his "private room" with the heads. Cartagia tells Londo that it would be unfair to become a god and let the rest of Centauri Prime suffer without his "leadership" so, Cartagia plans to allow the Vorlon fleet to destroy Centauri Prime with no resistance. That way, as Cartagia is elevated to godhood, the rest of the planet will be put out of their "misery" and he can take them with him. Londo becomes sick. . .

Back on B5, Franklin completes his tests on Garibaldi and pronounces him fit to return to duty. As Garibaldi leaves, Sheridan enters Medlab and inquires as to the results of his own tests. . .

Later, in Sheridan's quarters, Delenn enters just as Ivanova's update is completed on Babcom. Sheridan says it's the first time they've been alone together since he returned. Delenn is upset because she never told him about Anna, but Sheridan immediately forgives her. They share a few personal moments.

Londo meets with Cartagia to discuss Cartagia's upcoming godhood. Londo says he is concerned because after Centauri Prime falls, no one will remember Cartagia or sing his praises. After much conversation, Londo convinces Cartagia to goto Narn to execute G'kar, and that way, Cartagia's name would be forever remembered.

In the War Room, the command staff and Zack are gathered to discuss the situation with the Vorlons. They say that B5 is running out of room, and, since everyone thinks that Sheridan is the "second coming," they will all flee to B5. Franklin suggests that the refugees be shuttled to the planet below (Epsilon 3) to be taken care of. Sheridan enters the room and overhears the conversation. He agrees with Franklin and orders it to begin. He also informs the staff that he wants Kosh removed because of the Vorlons' recent actions. He orders Garibaldi to take a small security force to take care of it. Garibaldi objects, saying that he won't have enough people. Sheridan tells him to do it anyway. As Garibaldi leaves, Lorien and Lyta Alexander enter. Lyta says that she understands the situation, and will do her best. . .

Garibaldi and his force enter Kosh's quarters. Kosh refuses to leave the station, and security opens fire, but the troops are quickly forced to retreat to the oxygen-environment when Kosh emits a high-pitched noise which shatters their face masks. Lyta enters his quarters later and "informs" him of the Captain's plans to remove him from the station. Kosh says it is over, and they were unsuccessful. She says she wants to protect him, and that she may know who holds a piece of the original Kosh. Enraged that a human could carry Kosh, Kosh (2) follows. . . into a trap. A series of "high voltage" electricity boxes zap Kosh and force him to be still, while security opens fire on him. . . destroying his headpiece. Kosh leaves his encounter suit and attacks the security forces. Delenn just happens to be passing by, and notices the fight. As one of the troopers is injured, she attempts to help him but Kosh sees her and moves to attack. Sheridan runs after her and is caught by Kosh. Lorien enters, telepathically connects with John, and says "now!" Sheridan faces Kosh 2 and at that moment, the original Kosh leaves Sheridan, engaging Kosh 2 in a fierce fight. Both Kosh's leave the station and Kosh 2's ship is destroyed as it attempts to escape. Delenn rushes to help Sheridan, but Lorien stops her. He touches Sheridan with his hand, which begins to glow. Lorien explains that he is replenishing Sheridan's life-force, and that is how he brought John back from Z'Ha'Dum.

Later on, Delenn enters Sheridan's quarters to find him and Lorien waiting. Lorien explains that Sheridan was dead at Z'Ha'Dum, but he brought him back by giving John some of his own lifeforce. He also says that Sheridan only regained a portion of his life. Delenn asks how long. Sheridan nods, so Lorien tells her that, barring injury and illness, Sheridan has 20 years to live, but no more. Delenn is devastated. John asks Lorien to leave. Sheridan tells Delenn that he knew the price and accepted it. He also says that 20 years is a long time, and is longer than he would otherwise have had with her. He also gives her an engagement ring. John says that he doesn't know when (or if) he and Delenn can be married, but he wanted her to have the ring. They kiss.

On Centauri Prime, Cartagia meets with Londo to discuss preparations to go to Narn. Cartagia suddenly tells Londo that he doesn't like the way G'kar is looking at him. Londo says that whatever punishment Cartagia decides on will be appropriate, and then leaves to pack. Cartagia decides upon a punishment. He orders the guards to pluck out one of G'kar's eyes. . . Cartagia leaves the cell, leaving G'kar to his fate.
