Synopsis

Note: This synopsis came from Time-Warner's official Babylon 5 page.

With the Shadows on the attack, Sheridan arranges a meeting with Gaim Ambassador She'Lah and Brakiri to ask for their cooperation. Sheridan pleads that with their help, other worlds would join the resistance. Ambassador She'lah refuses, explaining that they do not want to provoke the Shadows.

An excited Londo is busy making last-minute arrangements for Adira Tyree, his true love, who is on her way to Babylon 5 for a visit. Prior to her arrival, Morden confronts Londo about the reduced military campaign that the Centauri are undertaking. Londo, however, believes he is being used as a distraction for the Shadows. When Morden threatens Londo, dictating that he better not violate the terms of their agreement, a confident Londo dismisses him.

Later, when Morden finds out about Londo's prized guest, Adira, he bribes a guard to have her poisoned. Londo, believing the act was in retaliation of his poisoning Lord Refa, vows revenge and asks Morden to help him get back at Lord Refa.

Dr. Franklin begins to perform erratically as a result of his addiction to stims. His most recent mistake almost costs him the life of a patient, but he is saved when Dr. Hobbs intervenes. Garibaldi confronts a resentful Franklin who denies there is a problem. Garibaldi asks Dr. Hobbs to pull Dr. Franklin's blood samples, which she refuses, but leaves him the access code to obtain the information. Garibaldi attempts to get the information, but morally cannot go through with it, feeling that he is betraying his friend. Franklin, witnessing this act, realizes that he actually does have an addiction and confesses to Sheridan. Knowing he cannot perform his duties, Franklin resigns as chief of staff of the medlab facility.

Realizing he must score a major victory over the Shadows to get others to join the cause, Sheridan approaches Kosh, asking to convince the Vorlon government to send out an expedition to engage in a battle against the Shadows. Kosh says it is not time yet, but a determined Sheridan eventually convinces him to help. However, Kosh says that by doing this favor, he will not be there to help him when he goes to Z'ha'dum, as he had promised. The Vorlon fleet destroys several shadow vessels, scoring the victory Sheridan needed. In retaliation, Morden, with the help of several shadow vessels, kills Kosh in his quarters, leaving behind only his shattered headpiece. Not wanting news of Kosh's death to spread, fearing it would destroy the fragile, new alliance just formed with other world's, the crew and Vorlon government agree to send a replacement. As a final act, the Vorlon government asks that Kosh's encounter suit be placed in his ship
