Synopsis

Note: This synopsis came from Time-Warner's official Babylon 5 page.

Mr. Bester (WALTER KOENIG), an elite Psi-cop, informs Sheridan (BRUCE BOXLEITNER) of his plans to visit Babylon 5 in pursuit of an individual he feels poses a threat to Babylon 5, Earth and the Psi Corps. Sheridan believes he is coming to engage in unauthorized mind scans and is afraid Bester will uncover not only the group's involvement with the Rangers, but also the fact that they've been providing evidence in the assassination of President's Santiago.

Upon Bester's arrival, a determined Ivanova (CLAUDIA CHRISTIAN) decides to take matters into her own hands and prepares to fire on his vessel. However, Sheridan comes in at the last second and de-activates the defense grid. Using an alternative plan devised by Delenn (MIRA FURLAN), Sheridan, Ivanova, Garibaldi (JERRY DOYLE) and Franklin (RICHARD BIGGS) surround themselves with Minbari telepaths and block Bester's mind flow. Franklin then injects a serum into a reluctant Bester, temporarily suppressing his abilities to scan.

Bester informs the group about a dangerous drug called Dust, which enhances the telepathic gene and allows a person to invade the mind of another and experience their entire life in a matter of minutes. Bester believes one of the main distributors for Dust has come to Babylon 5 with the intention of selling massive quantities to foreign governments who will use it as a weapon to learn the secrets of their enemy.

Meanwhile, Vir (STEPHEN FURST) returns from his first diplomatic trip to Minbar and attempts to pursuade a skeptical Londo (PETER JURASIK) that the Minbari can be trusted.

G'Kar (ANDREAS KATSULAS) secretly meets with Lindstrom (GEORGE GERDES), the supplier of Dust. Before making a transaction, G'Kar insists on sampling the drug to experience its merits. He injects it into himself and seeks out his enemy, Londo, in order to get into his mind.

Bester and Garibaldi question Ashi (PHILIP MOON), a man with strong ties to the black market. Ashi informs them of an incoming shipment of Dust arriving later that day. Using this privileged information, Bester and Garibaldi bust Lindstrom and his men. They interrogate them to find out with whom they are doing business. Bester and Garibaldi's questioning is interrupted by a security guard who informs them that a drugged G'Kar is on the rampage, and has ventured into Londo's quarters, after having knocking Vir unconscious.

While in Londo's mind, G'Kar discovers that Londo was given the Ambassador job at Babylon 5 because no one else wanted it. He also finds out that he was responsible for the death of ten thousand Narns in Quadrant 37. G'Kar then experiences a vision of his father, and of the God G'lan who tells him he must keep his honor. They instruct him to accept the notion that the Narns and Centauri are not fighting to kill one another, but rather to save one another. In order to achieve this however, some must be sacrificed if all are to be saved. The drug wears off, and an enlightened G'Kar has a new sense of peace.
