They are both extremely busy right now with their shows (remember, Danny had to give up a majormovie role just to appear in That '70s Show), and they both have lives, so they don't have much time to answer their mail personally. Yes, "That '70s Show" is scheduled to return to Fox-TV this summer with new episodes. Given the high ratings of "Family Guy," though, we're not certain if it will return to its old time slot or get a new one.

We run our website as a FREE public service for you, our visitors, and we hope to keep things that way. Unfortunately, that means that we cannot afford to buy a new scanner for transparencies (i.e., those stacks of wonderful COLOR pictures which we have piled up here, gathering dust) or a new video card to grab frames of your fave from movies or television shows, or a new high-speed modem so that we can update our web site constantly, instead of every other week or so, etc., etc.
In order to buy all of that neat hardware so that we can upgrade our page, we have caved in and gone commercial. That's right, folks, after almost two-and-a-half years without ANY ads on our web page, we have placed a few selected advertisements here and there within the actual text of our pages. These, unlike those annoying "pop-up" advertisements, are selected by us because we think that they offer goods and services of interest to you. If you "click through" to the businesses which we advertise (and especially if you BUY something), THEY will pay us -- not much, but we hope that if enough of you click through (and hopefully shop online) we will earn enough to buy the equipment that we want in order to upgrade these pages, add more color pics, video and audio clips, etc. If you like our web site, please patronize the businesses which we advertise here so that we can improve our pages.

We recently recruited helpers from California to Qu�bec to Kensington to Queensland (or maybe it was New South Wales) and took out a substantial loan to make some major hardware upgrades for our real work and in part so that we could keep upgrading this site (you may have some noticed some pages being updated several times a day!).

Having earned less than US $5.00 because so few of you "clicked through" to our advertisers (and only one of you actually BOUGHT anything, we note), now that we have hit the Yahoo/Geocities 11 Megabyte wall, we have been faced with a decision: dig deeper into our pockets and lease more web space from Yahoo/Geocities, or add just enough files to take us to the 11 Megabyte limit and then stop updating this page.
(We COULD, of course, move everything lock, stock, and barrel to Fortune City and gain an extra nine megabytes of disk space, but our attitude is: if you don't care, why should we? We could also move some of our larger files to other servers, but that would make our page load even more slowly than it already does, and we have no intention of contributing to "the heat death of the universe.")
This is The Jaundiced Eye PRODUCTIONS Home Page -- we actually use our computers and video equipment and cameras to MAKE things, believe it or not -- and while this place has been "a hoot and a holler" to run, if you visitors don't care enough about it to let it even pay for its own upkeep, why should we divert our valuable time and resources from PAYING work to keep upgrading this site?
SO, The Muse With the Jaundiced Eye HERSELF has decreed that while His Nibs, The Grand Panjandrum, can finish filling up the 11 Megabytes of web space we have (probably for The Thirteenth Floor review, a final update to our "That '70s Show" page, Lion's Gate's Christian Bale flick, Metroland, and possibly something on Touchstone's upcoming The Thirteenth Warrior (which is only natural, since it is based upon Beowulf, and The Grand Panjandrum likes alliteration, with which Beowulf is fantastically and fulsomely filled), there will be no additional updates after the 11 Megabytes of server space is filled up. Decreasing the sizes of some of our larger photographs (which has already begun here on Ben and Casey Affleck's fan page), will gain us a little more space, and we may do some occasional updates after that, but, by and large people:
So that our loyal visitors are not left totally high and dry, we have added links on our main page to several other sites on the Internet which also devote themselves to pictures, at least, of young actors, and one or two have mirror sites for young actresses as well, for you fans of Jennifer Tilly, Reese Witherspoon, etc.
Since so many people became fans of the "Cybill" show because Danny appeared on it as Justin, the son of Maryann (Christine Baranski), we could not resist adding this autographed photo of Miss Baranski from Cruel Intentions, in which she plays the mother of Selma Blair (Zoe Bean from the WB's "Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane") opposite Sarah Michelle "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" Gellar, Joshua "Pacey Witter" Jackson, Ryan "Billy Douglas" Phillippe, as well as Swoosie Kurtz, Eric Mabius, and many others. Unfortunately, Danny was too busy doing The Faculty and "That '70s Show" to even try to go to his native New York for Cruel Intentions.
Let's squelch this rumor before it even gets started! No, Danny Masterson, the actor, is NOT dead. Within the last few days a message relating to the death of a peace officer was posted in a (not-very-well) restricted NYPD computer base. Part of the post was a message of condolences from a DIFFERENT Danny Masterson, who is also, presumably, alive and well. Since "our" Danny is from New York originally, some not-very-careful Net lurkers might wrongly assume that Danny was killed. As of today, both Danny Mastersons are alive and well.
As of today, the darkest cloud on Danny the actor's horizon was that he was shut out of a rule in an upcoming Warren Beatty movie, apparently because the role was expanded (for him) just as Fox picked up nine more episodes of "That '70s Show," leaving Danny no time for the film. Josh Hartnett is scheduled to replace him in the role.
Danny is not only in "That '70s Show," and as we have been saying for over a year, he IS a Nielsen Master-man. "That '70s Show's" first episode debuted at #7 nationally with about . . . 12,560,000 viewers. It dropped a little in its second week, but still wound up with a respectable 6.0 rating and a 12 share, making it Fox's second-highest-rated show for the week of August 24 - September 30, 1998 In late December or early January we'll have more Nielsen ratings updates. Johnny Galecki may be The Man, but Danny remains a Master-man; see below for more on his television ratings power.
Please do remember, that ours is UNofficial information about Danny Masterson, except, of course, that he and Christopher are brothers, that Danny co-starred in Beethoven's 2nd, Star Kid, Face/Off, "Cybill," etc., which everyone knew, anyway. Right?

How to tell that this is an UNofficial site: we just hinted back to an embarassing screw-up (not ours, BTW) in which Danny was listed for half a year as "Masterman" in The Academy Players' Directory. We don't think Danny appreciates anyone calling him that, but at least it helps to show how long we have been fans of his. (Like, ya know, since 1993 or '94 -- see the pix below, from one of Danny's celebrated 100+ commercials. You won't find these anywhere else -- unless they were lifted from here! In 1999 we may post some more pictures from Danny's old commericals, but we guarantee nothing. . . .)
Danny told Movieline that he enjoyed doing Face/Off, the film in which John Travolta kicks his ass. He also said that the wildest rumor that he has heard about himself is that he is Gay. (We have yet to poll our viewers to find out their feelings about that particular statement! Do, however, visit our special page on who's Gay and who's Cool.)
In Los Angeles and Hollywood the "Roseanne" episodes featuring Danny as Darlene's hot love "Jimmy," "Follow the Son" (11/2/1994), and "Punch and Jimmy" (11/9/1994), are airing on January 11th and 12th, 1999. Check listings in your area for days, times, and the specific episodes. By the way, we DID get to record these episodes. It's not inconceivable that some day we may even post pictures from them. Maybe.)
Well, it had to happen sooner or later (we predicted it, therefore it was destined to occur): Danny Masterson's star has finally lit up. Both T.V. Guide (August 1, 1997) and Dramalogue (July 31) have written him up now that he is a regular on CBS's "Cybill", as Zoey's love interest (and Maryann's son), "Justin," a vegetarian eco-activist. (As of May 1998, unfortunately, "Cybill" has been cancelled, despite the ratings boost which Danny supplied to it.)
Since, as some of you have noted, we are the premiere source for information about Danny Masterson and his brother Christopher on the Internet, there is precious little we can add to what we have already said about the elder of the two talented Masterson brothers except to add here that twenty-year-old Danny is a native New Yorker, came to L.A. at age 16, has done over 100 commercials, appeared in Face/Off at the same time brother Christopher was in My Best Friend's Wedding), and that he is going to go very, very far in The Industry (WE have spoken). (Having SPOKEN, we point out that until Titanic was released, Christopher and Danny's films were respectively the 9th and 10th highest grossing US-made movies of 1997!)

Nielsen homes seem to love Danny Masterson: in Week #52 of the 1996/1997 TV Year (that's September 8th to September 14th, 1997), Beethoven's 2nd "won" its timeslot (except for its first half hour, opposite "Sabrina, the Teenaged Witch"). Interestingly, its ratings got progressively higher as the show proceeded, peaking during the last half hour (when Danny has his part) with 16% of America's TeeVee sets tuned in to watch Danny Masterson.
Okay, so maybe it was just a fluke that the highest ratings for Beethoven's Second were in the half-hour in which Danny appeared, but our in-house number cruncher has discovered something which isn't a statistical fluke: every time Danny's character Justin is featured in "Cybill," the show's ratings increase and an average of 2,180,000 extra people tune in to watch! So far this season, the two highest-rated episodes of "Cybill" have prominently featured Danny. And WE remember him when he was selling Clearasil and Kellogg's Frosted Flakes!
When CBS re-broadcast brother Chris Masterson's "Touched By an Angel" episode, NBC countered by airing "Beethoven's 2nd," starring Danny. They finished first and second in their time slots, with (of course!) the last half-hour of "Beethoven," which is the part that features Danny, scoring the highest share of that movie's ratings.
15 December 1998: "More, More, MORE!" -- We are very gratified by the number of people who have visited and would like more information about Christopher and Danny Masterson, Ryan Phillippe, and others, but, please bear in mind, as we say elsewhere, Jaundiced Eye's Home Page is a FREE site and we are NOT being paid to supply this information. Except for the single datum that Chris and Danny Masterson are indeed brothers (which Christopher personally told us), we have also received NO OTHER co-operation, information, pictures, or anything else from Christopher or Danny or Ryan Phillippe or their agents, managers, publicists, etc. -- we have had to ferret out each and every scrap of information on them that we have posted, and each page here represents well over 100 hours of our research time and on-line work; that's several thousand dollars of time, effort and bandwidth that we are "donating" to you, our visitors, and the stars we all like so much.
In fact, we are frankly getting so irritated at the number of actors, their "people," and their fans who EXPECT us to do all of this free work, that we are very seriously considering not providing any further updates in 1999 on actors who haven't co-operated with us unless they are in a movie, television show, play, etc. for which we receive pix or info from some other source, such as the production company. Many of the people for whom we have fan pages here pay publicists thousands of dollars a year to do what we have been doing for free for over two years, and those publicists, in turn, very rarely co-operate with us, even though we are often doing their jobs for them!
We may know, love, or admire many of the people for whom we have fan pages, but we aren't stupid, and we do have lives of our own to lead. The information on this site doesn't just appear out of nowhere -- we have to find it (and sometimes pay for it) and then create the HTML computer code for it, and then post it; that represents time and money that we can't spend on people who actually PAY us, or it represents our leisure time -- the time WE would like to spend watching shows and films with our favorite actors and actresses, but which we devote instead to working here.
The least we expect is a little bit of co-operation or gratitude; if we don't get either, and people (mostly visitors here) "cop an attitude," as if we are supposed to be slaving away here (sometimes twelve person-hours a day), it really irritates us . . . A LOT . . . and we reserve the right to say, "No more!" On the other hand. . . .
