Adrian Paul

11:00 in the Loft

Imagine the anticipation. We all know who's next, the tartan clad hero himself. 'Princes of the Universe' begins to play, they lift the 'elevator' door and. . . .it's ADRIAN!!!!!!

He came out wearing an olive top and cream pants. I don't have a picture because I didn't have holy ground seating, and photo opportunities were limited. (There is a photo at the bottom of this page, but I fit it in where it flows in the story)

First thing that happens, as he steps on to stage is he accidentally steps on a piece of the loft set. He picked what appeared to be a whicker basket up, looked it over and declares: "I never really liked it anyway!" and tosses it over his shoulder.

He then picked up both mic's that had been left on stage and plays around with them for a moment.

The first question wasn't a question at all, but was a demand that he show up occasionally on the new show.

Q: We know what you thought about the T-bird, but what did you think of the Citron?

It took him a minute to respond as he couldn't find the speaker. You see, there were three mic's set up about the room. One down front right, one down front left, and one in the back middle (by me), and it was hard to see through the lights.

A: For me it was a little tight. (at which time he imitated him sitting in it, all scrunched up with his knees to his chin) I actually get a bet sea sick, but it was supposed to be a vintage car.

*someone said something about his accent*

A: Do you want me to do an American accent?

*massive 'Yes' from the crowd*

A: To continue to talk with one?

*massive 'No' from the crowd*

Q: Would you thank my husband for bringing me, it's our 20th anniversary.

A: "Jean, where are you? . . . . .Are you mad?!?!?!?!?"

Q: Do you consider yourself a role model?

A: When in the public eye you need to be careful about how you present yourself. He then announced that PEACE is going to start a fund for kids (who have aids or are on the streets). He said that he's the catalyst, but we must do it. Ignorance breeds mistrust which breeds hate. We see TV and don't see what's really important.

Q: ?

A: I had nothing to do with the Blooper Reel. You think you'd get tired of (imitates his head bobbing along as it did in the song)

Q: What was your favorite historical period and did you have to research for the flashbacks?

A: Yes, he and the writers do a lot of research. He always liked being Duncan MacLeod in the Highlands.

Q: (from Big John) Congratulations and thanks from the Rysher forum.

 *mass screaming from the forumlanders*

A: What, do you have your own fan club out there???

Q: (still BJ) Something about how in character Duncan is when Adrian directs.

A: It's very tough to act in a show you're directing. It's like this (leaps back and forth in a dramatic show of directing and acting). He also said he's no longer in Dog of Flanders, but is in a show called Susan's Plan.

Q: Something about Ann Lindsey

A: She was put in a strange position. Duncan had loved Tessa for many years. They wanted someone who dealt with life and death. MacLeod didn't really want to go there(as in relationship) but was attracted to her.

Q: What amount of time and training goes into the sword scenes?

A: Sometimes we shoot a day after rehearsal, sometimes it's even just an hour. It's tough, as that's when the timing gets off and that's how (points to his eye) stuff like that happens.
McAsh works on the fight first, than I change it. :) They keep the characters within relationships and build their fights around that.

Q: *******SPOILER FOR 'TO BE'***********

About the beginning. . . .

A: (chuckles a bit) Well, it was supposed to be "oh, Amanda, -oh Duncan" and all nice like that, but we decided to have fun with it! So we set up the bowls and the fruit and. . . . :)

Q: What legacy would you like to leave people with?

A: 'He made people laugh, he made people think, and maybe he did something better." [I loved this response!!]

Q: Is Duncan going to show up to 'pass the torch' as Conner did in the first episode?

A: I don't need to pass anything to Amanda, she's already established. (pauses for a moment) Besides, I already did in that first scene!

Q: something about parents and what his mom thought of the love scenes

A: Well,. . .I look a lot like my mom and dad. Actually, . . . not to much like my dad. (he smiles) My mom never said anything about that stuff. She did say (he puts on a thick Italian accent): "Season Six wasn't the best. . . . but the last two were very good."
(as an afterthought) I think she liked that first scene.

Q: Have you ever been offered the part of James Bond?

A: He went in when Pierce Brosnan got the roll, but he can't play it forever and Adrian's very interested.

Q: Are you going to do more Adrian Tapes?

A: They were fun, I wanted to show the behind the scenes and I began to take notes. I'm trying to put season 3-6 together.

Q: something about martial arts

A: It's a discipline. It's good so kids develop pride in themselves. I'm now studying the internal force, which was used in Armageddon. It was fun to do, I was the only one who knew the choreography!

Q: We know you have Rottweilers, why did you choose the breed?

A: First of all, I had rottweilers, my ex-wife has them now. I like them because they're strong and intelligent. They aren't cruel, dogs are created by humans.

Q: Where did your work ethic come from?

A: I wanted to be good. I don't think you should do anything half mast. If you're going to do something, do it!

Suddenly the elevator door opened and Alexandra Vandernoot came walking out. He jumped up and hugged her and everyone was cheering madly. He jokingly said "that's my girlfriend" but then accidentally called her Elizabeth. She responded with "Oh, I see how it is, four years and it's all forgotten!"

She was only on for a moment, and just wanted to tell us how amazed she was by the numbers that were there. She also apologized for her accent (which I love, such a wonderful part of that elegant woman).

Then time was out and they both left the stage. I really did love the repetoir between them.
