This is one of my favorite movies. It stars Jennifer Jones, as Emma Bovary, and Van Heflin as her husband Charles. Emma, starved for impossible love, is bored with her life. Despite the friendship of townspeople, such as Mayor Tuvache, (John Abbott) Homais, (Gene Lockhart) and Madame Dupuis (Gladys Cooper), Emma cannot find contentment. First, she spends outrageous amounts of money on things such as clothes and furniture, and is foolish enough to trust a crafty linendraper, Lhereux (Frank Allenby.) This gives her little pleasure to, so she turns to a lover to find solace, Rodolphe (Louis Jourdan.) After he deserts her, she finds little joy in her relationship with an old friend, Leon (Christopher Kent.) She panicks because her bills are so extreme, and Lhereux knows about her cheating and lying. Distressed, ahe takes a lethal dose of arsenic. She dies with her faithful and loyal husband Charles by her side.

Note from the author. Please read!!!!!!!!!~
Although this movie is depressing, it is a classic. I give it a 10 out of 10. Jennifer Jones shows her classic acting skills, although this was a different role for her. For those of you who haven't seen it...you must!!~ It's great!
