'LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN' TO MAKE ITS FIRST ROAD TRIP IN NOVEMBER
Conan O'Brien & Co. To Shoot A Week Of Shows In Los Angeles and 'Late Night' to join the 'NBC All Night' Line-Up on September 20
NBC Press Release -- July 30, 1999
For the first time in its six-year run, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" is taking the show on the road. The top-rated, critically praised late night show will travel to Los Angeles to broadcast for the week of November 9-12, 1999 (12:35-1:35 a.m. ET). The announcement was made by NBC Entertainment President Garth Ancier at the semi-annual TCA Press Tour in Pasadena.
"Late Night" will broadcast from NBC's Studio One in Burbank, the long-time home of "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson."
This marks the first time "Late Night" will be on a traditional road show, but not the first time it's been shot on location. The show has also been shot from New York's famed Circle Line boat ride around the island of Manhattan (June 23, 1995). In addition, when a fire drove "Late Night" from its home at 30 Rockefeller's Studio 6A in October 1996, the show was broadcast from Rockefeller Center's ice rink.
Guests for the week-long West Coast stay will be announced at a later date.
In addition, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" will join NBC's overnight programming lineup, "NBC All Night" with re-broadcasts of the program airing at 3:05-4:05 a.m., Monday through Thursday and 3:35-4:35 a.m. on Fridays. "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" is from NBC Studios in association with Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels is the executive producer. Jeff Ross is the producer. Jonathan Groff is head writer. Gary Considine is executive producer, NBC Studios.
