THE BOND ACTORS
ROGER MOORE
Born: October 14, 1927 (Yes, he's even older than Sean.)
007 flicks: Live and Let Die, The Man With the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me,
Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill.
As Bond: After playing Simon Templar on the 1960s TV series "The Saint" (upon which the Val Kilmer
movie is based), Connery finished "Diamonds Are Forever" and Moore took over. Moore's Bond was
more easy-going, and had too many smiles, witticims, and possibly too many love scenes. He wasn't really tough at all.
As said by screenwriter Tom Mankiewicz, "When Connery walks into a bar, you know he could probably kill somebody if
he had to. When Roger Moore walked into a bar, you knew he would probably say something glib to get out of a situation."
Basically, Moore was too passive, he couldn't scare anyone, which seemed to come natural to Sean Connery.
Post-Bond Career: Umm, his career hasn't been much since he stopped playing 007.
His last two movies were "The Quest" with Van Damme, and believe it or not, "SpiceWorld."
Best 007 movie: The Spy Who Loved Me (But Octopussy comes close!)
