Pretty, dark-eyed KATIE HOLMES has been having the time of her life. After all, she's not only staring in Dawson's Creek, she's also building a big time movie career-not bad for this 19-year-old Ohio Native! Katie told us all about what it's like being her during her most recent "girl chat" with 16! 16: Tell us about your Dawsons's Creek character, Joey. KATIE: Joey is a tomboy, and she's really sweet deep down, but she says things out of jealousy and hurt feelings. Dawson is the only stable thing in her life, and when she feels like she's losing him, she feels threatened. 16: Are you anything like Joey in real life? KATIE: I'm shy at first, until I get to know someone. Joey's not shy and she tells things like they are-she doesn't hold back, basically. I kind of hold things in. She's more of a tomboy than I am, rougher around the edges. 16: What was high school for you like? KATIE: Where I come from, there were a lot of football games. I used to always buy new sweaters and go to the football games on the weekends. Although I liked school a lot, I have to admit I sometimes focused more on dances and football games and nice, new boys at school. 16: Joey's not really into fashion trends-what about you? KATIE: My style is conservative, but I like bell-bottoms and that Urban Outfitters-type clothing for weekends. I wear a lot of brown and black-I like those colors. 16: Describe your fantasy guy. KATIE: I like dark hair and eyes. And tall. Someone with an outgoing personality and a good sense of humor. 16: If you saw someone at a party who fit that description, what would you do? KATIE: I'd probably go up and say, " Who do you know here? "" I think women should start taking the initiative. 16: What do you consider to be your greatest achievement? KATIE: Probably doing Dawson's Creek. That and appearing in the movie The Ice Storm. Those two things. 16: Do you have any advice for young people who might want to try acting? KATIE: Definitely believe in yourself always. Don't let anyone get in the way of your dreams. Katie is also in the magazine Twist with Kirsten Dunst on the cover. There's a small picture and article about her. Katie was also on MTV Live on May.6. If you missed it just go to www.katie-holmes.com and you can download it. KATIE HOLMES FAN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dawson's Creek is my favorite show. I've heard a lot of people opinions about what should happen. Here's mine. First of all, even though Joey and Pacey look cute together, many couples look cute together. That does not mean they are meant to be together. Their aren't meant to be. I do feel that Joey and Dawson are. True love is just attraction, it starts with friendship and grows in love that's forever. That's true love and how marriages should happen. Jen, she is a sweet girl, but does not belong with Dawson. Right now I don't think any of the guys on the show would work for her. Pacey, well, that's another article. Anyone with positive comments about Dawson's Creek feel free to email me at Melly-Juliette@mailexcite.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Salutations. I am a person who wishes to remain anonymous at all costs. I have a direct inside source to the remarkable show, Dawson's Creek, to which I am related to. This person gives me much information that I think would interest you all exceptionally. The writers are playing games with your heads. The Pacey/Joey relationship is just starting out. Look for context clues during the next few shows and you'll see exactly what I mean. Such an example of one is in the latest episode. Pacey and Joey is conversing in the dark and Pacey brings up Dawson. There is a hint of jealousy in his voice. The rest of the conversation rings true. The writers want to catch you unexpected. They will get together in the most outrageous way. It won't be for a time though. Keep searching for clues. Please e-mail me whenever you wish. subzero_58@hotmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before I begin to gush effusive about Pacey--who last night added "rapper" to the never-ending list of things that make us "passionate for Pacey"--we need to talk about Jen and her "growing" problems. Was she wearing a Jean-Paul Gautier inspired bra? Those things could have poked someone's eye out! And what's up with Grams doing a 180...she was practically giving Cliff the go-ahead to poke a cone and listen for the boing. And her voice...it is scratchy and seems as though she will burst out crying at any moment. Her New York life could not have been all that traumatizing. She's much too young to young to be so depressed. Maybe Cliff is good for Jen. He seems to be what she needs right now: someone nice, fun and uncomplicated. Accolade overdrive. Dawson --in addition to being one of the world's most beautiful beings--is now imaginative and original. While "beautiful" and "original" are a stretch for me a this point in time, I will readily dub him "imaginative." After all, it must take some imagination to inspire puppy dog love for Jen and such an indifference to Joey's beautiful, intense and sagacious self. I am in agreement that Mary Beth would be good for Dawson: she's a cute, grounded, no-nonsense girl. In some ways, she's like Jen with a smile and without the excess baggage. In other ways, she's like Joey--witty and smart. Now, to the important people. I agree with the majority of the Creek contributors: more of Pacey and Joey. These two just heat up the screen. Ahh, but perhaps Joey must grow into her love for Pacey as Dawson must realize his for Joey. Pacey's the guy we might have ignored or laughed at in highschool, but now that we're women of the world, he's what we want. Tamara knew. We can only hope that this storyline will resurface.
