Munch, one of the characters most clearly identifiable from David Simon's book, is the
sarcastic joker of the Homicide unit, quick to pop into a cynical, witty monologue on life in
any situation, especially standing over a dead body. From his pilot rant of "I'm not Montel
Williams!" to his great last season line "I just called Boelantera's parents, told them their
kid iced himself", Munch is the thrice-divorced jewish curmudgeon of Homicide. Season 7 leaves him with yet another partner: Bayliss.
