Then late in the winter of the year
ninetyfive
A good friend and I went out for
a drive.
The talk turned to music and she
asked all askance
"If you love the music, have you
seen Riverdance?"
So I bought it and watched it and
was truly impressed
By the music, Jean and Michael--but
not all the rest.
I watched it quite often and bought
the CD
But a beautiful show is all it was
to me.
Then early this year a coworker
of mine
Heard the CD in my office and stayed
for a time
To listen and asked "have you seen
his new show?"
I said tell me about it for I wanted
to know.
She loaned me her copy and I took
it home
And played it that night when I
was alone.
I played it again and again in a
daze
I couldn't believe what I saw; I
was truly amazed.
With my heart in my throat I sat
there in tears.
Michael where've you been for all
of these years?
Now who is this man who could create
such a thing
That would fill up my soul and from
me tears wring.
I had to learn more so to the computer
I flew
And began a web search, but the
sites they were few.
But the more that I read of his
life I knew he
Was somebody special, then I found
the VB.
And so I began to read and to post
About this experience that we all
love the most.
I just had to see it; would it come
South?
I tried for some tickets but the
shows were sold out.
At last for shows in Denver I scored
tickets two
And out to see Michael my friend
and I flew.
From Denver to Boston and the Baltimore
shore
I followed the show for I needed
one more.
In Atlanta I thought that this was
the best
For the show and the crowd went
beyond all the rest.
The midwest was out for my job it
did call
But in San Antonio I thought I'd
have a real ball.
But fate, as it will, interfered
with my plans
And kept me at home with my loving
husband.
"So your journey is over," you might
say to me.
No way I reply for there's still
the VB,
And Dublin, and movies and troupe
two standing by
Cause I'm still a Flathead and will
be till I die.
