'Twas the night before Christmas.....
‘Twas the night before Christmas
when up on the stage
Not a lassie
was leaping, not a warrior in rage.
The dance shoes were hung in the
dressing room with care,
In hopes that
Saint Michael soon would be there.
The wee fans were nestled all snug
in a line,
Waiting for
tickets to have a great time.
We were first by the box office
with laptop computers,
On line with
the web site and VB commuters.
When out in the parking lot arose
such a clatter,
We sprang from
our spots to see what was the matter.
The dancers, musicians, technicians
and all,
Burst from the
arena and out into the mall.
The moon like a spotlight on Celtic
decor...
We looked and
we listened, then heard a great roar.
A red Lamborghini had circled the
place,
The dancers
were tapping in rhythm and pace;
When out stepped a driver, so lively
and quick,
We were hip
in a flash that the darlin’ was Mic!
More rapid than Capezios the tap
sounds they came,
And he whistled,
and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now Erin the Goddess! Now Spirit!
Now Clan!
On, Warriors,
Don Dorcha, The Girls, Morrighan!
Saoirse and Warlords, Musicians,
I call!
Now, play away,
tap away, dance away all!"
As windmills are blown with hurricane
speed,
Uniformly they
acted; His word they did heed.
So back to the building, to the
stage, fast they flew,
Freeing open
the doors for the fans, oh so true.
And then in a twinkle, we heard
on the roof
The prancing
and pawing of each talented hoof.
We all got to our seats like robots
in trance,
Then exploding
in fireworks came The Lord of the Dance.
He was sculptured in spandex from
his head to his feet,
Fitting like
wallpaper, looking so sheik.
He flew from the light and then
circled the floor.
We yelled and
we cried; We just had to have more!
His eyes how they glistened! His
smile it did beam!
Charismatic
energy flowing in streams!
The tap sounds they echoed. Our
hearts beat as one.
Never before
have we had so much fun!
The music so brilliant! The dancers
so great!
Once in a lifetime,
it had to be fate.
So enjoy it now and relish this
man,
Be proud of
the web site and VB and fans.
The most talented dancer the world’s
ever seen!
Savor the moment.
Cherish the dream.
A wink of his eye, and a twist
of his head,
Has made life
all worth living and nothing to dread.
Sharing the credit and giving the
dues,
Living his legend!
(Blast bad reviews!)
And pointing his finger, then striking
the pose,
And giving a
nod, the fireworks arose.
He sprang to his car, to his team
gave a wave,
And away they
all flew- Just the memory to save.
But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
"MAKE THE MOST
OF YOUR DREAMS!
HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE!"
