The Ghost of Gaston
Part One
Ok, you asked for it! Here's what I've written so far on my B&TB
story. It takes place after the movie. Remember, this story is still
being worked on. I think I might have Belle a little out of character
in some parts! Comments are highly appreciated! Warning, I have a very
strange imagination sometimes!
Okay, here it is:
The Ghost of Gaston (Part 1)
by Angela
Belle watched in horror as Gaston lunged at the Beast,
preparing to stab him with the knife in his hands. Tears welled up in
Belle's eyes as the injured Beast limped on to the balcony. Behind
them, Belle heard a scream. Gaston plummeted off the roof to his death
on the jagged rocks below. Suddenly, Belle was no longer on the balcony
but floating in a black nothingness. Out of the darkness came a voice
that sent a chill through her. "Does that ring a bell, Belle? Ha Ha!
I thought it might. I didn't think you could forget me! I've been
watching you, Belle. I still want you as my wife, and being dead isn't
going to stop me! You should feel lucky. Any other girl could only
dream of being with me for the rest of her life, or should I say . . .
afterlife! Ha!Ha!
Belle woke with a start. Her heart was pounding. She looked
around and noticed that nothing unusual had happened. It had just been
a dream She reassured herself that Gaston was gone, and there were no
such things as ghosts. Still, the vision had really shaken her up, and
it was a while before she fell back asleep. Suprisingly, once she fell
asleep, she slept peacefully. By morning she had almost completely
forgotten the awful nightmare. It wasn't until she woke up in the
middle of the following night that she remembered it.
The night was freezing, which was strange because it was
summer. Belle lit a candle to see if the window was open, but it
immediately blew itself out. She shivered and tried again, but the same
thing happened.
Suddenly, an eerie glow appeared at the foot of her bed. Slowly the
light took the form of a person. Belle gasped when she realized who it
was. The person was none other than Gaston! Belle stared in fear,
remembering the threat in her dream. This was no illusion, and she was
frightened.
"Hello, Belle," he said. "Did you miss me?" He moved toward
her. Belle's eyes were wide. She had seen Gaston fall to his doom and
knew that what she was seeing now was impossible.
"You're dead!" Belle managed to say, partially trying to
convince herself.
"Yes, it's true," he said. "and soon you will join me. You
see, Belle, I've always known that we were destined to be together ever
since I first met you. Now I will have you for all eternity!" Belle
pressed herself against her bed. She could feel the air getting colder
as Gaston advanced. "Relax, Belle. Soon it will all be over!" Belle
couldn't take her eyes off Gaston. She had never felt so scared in her
entire life. She tried to move away from him, but he seemed to be
everywhere.
Gaston closed in on Belle, preparing to choke her. Belle held
her breathe as his icy fingers touched her neck. She was both suprised
and relieved when Gaston's hands went right through her as easily as
air.
Gaston was shocked and angry. "I should've known!" he grumbled.
"Don't worry, Belle. I'll get you somehow! I'll be back!" Gaston
vanished, and the air gradually grew warmer. When Belle finally found
her voice, she screamed.
Her prince, whom at one time had been the Beast from her dream,
heard the scream and came rushing to Belle's bed chamber. "Belle,
what's wrong?" he asked. Belle's face was a ghostly white. "You look
as if you've seen a ghost!"
"I . . . did!" Belle responded. "It's Gaston! He's after me!
He tried to choke me!" She was almost in tears.
The prince tried to comfort Belle. He put his arms around her
as if she was a little girl. "There, there," he said softly. "I'm sure
it was just a bad dream. You know Gaston is gone."
"No! It was real." contradicted Belle. "I didn't believe it at
first either. I had a dream about it yesterday, but tonight he was
really here!" The head servants, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, and Cogsworth,
and Belle's father Maurice had heard the commotion and came rushing in
wearing their night clothes.
"What's wrong?" exclaimed Lumiere. "Who screamed?"
Mrs. Potts noticed how shaken up Belle was. "You poor dear!
You look scared to death!"
"Belle," said Maurice, "what happened?" He walked over to the side of Belle's bed.
Belle hugged her father. "Oh, Papa! Gaston is back! He was
here!"
"That's impossible!" exclaimed Maurice. Although Belle wasn't
usually the type to be really scared of nightmares, everyone believed
that what had happened to her had just been a bad dream, but the prince
agreed to stay with her for the rest of the night anyway to keep her
company.
Next part: Gaston meets Mr. Demone. If you're still interested, I'll type
out the next part for you. The really wierd stuff happens later! Angela
