"Thank you." We all walked quickly down the hall. We entered the room and Nick, Mrs. Carter, and Aaron were all there, huddled over BJ. Nick turned around and greeted us. "Hey guys. The doctors said she still had some water in her lungs, but she's gonna be fine. She's gotta stay overnight though, so she can come home tomorrow," he said. We walked over to BJ, who was sitting up, looking just fine. "Hey girl, how ya doin?" AJ asked her. "I feel fine!" she said. Then Mrs. Carter walked up to me and gave me a hug. "I want to thank you for saving my little girl's life. You don't know how much this means to us," she said. I felt like I was gonna cry. "You are very welcome," I said with a smile. The Carter's were all looking at me with grateful eyes. BJ started talking. "Thank you Sarah. I don't know where I'd be right now if I hadn't met you," she said. "Hey, I couldn't just stand there and do nothin!" I said. She giggled. "Do you remember anything that happened?" "Well, the last thing I remember was seeing Nick fling you across the pool..." Nick and I looked at each other and giggled. "...and then I went to go jump off the diving board, and then seeing Nick with a worried look on his face, holding me." "Maybe when you went in, something made you breathe in a lot of water," Dawn said. "Thank God you're okay," Mrs. Carter said. We all stayed a little while and talked to BJ. It was getting to be about 5:00 and Dawn and I had to go home.
"Listen, I wanna stay, but I need to go home," I said. "Yeah, I do too," said Dawn. "Okay, well, I can take you two home if you want," Brian said. "Okay, thanks. BJ, call us, okay?" Dawn said. "I sure will. Thanks guys," she said. The three of us walked out and headed for Brian's car. We stopped by Nick's to get our stuff and dropped us off. "Thanks for the ride, Brian," I said as I got out of his jeep. "No prob. See ya later," he said. I walked inside. I told my parents everything. I went to bed, thinking about the bazaar day we had had. Man, this was too much. One day I kiss the most gorgeous guy, the next day his sister almost drowns, I thought. What a combination.
I went to sleep
and woke up to the phone ringing.
"Hello?"

"This is she."

"No, I've been up for a few seconds..." He laughed.
