Charlie Sheen takes over for Michael J. Fox on Spin City From the February 22nd Variety:

SHEEN SET FOR 'SPIN' STINT
By JOSEF ADALIAN

Charlie Sheen has inked a $2.75 million deal to replace Michael J. Fox as the star of the ABC laffer “Spin City.”
Sheen, in his series debut, will take home around $125,000 per seg — a rich but not unprecedented payday for a sitcom star.
With Sheen on board, the Alphabet web has renewed “Spin” for the 2000-01 season. Production on the series will shift to Los Angeles from Gotham, according to industry insiders familiar with the terms of Sheen’s pact.
Sheen, 34, has agreed to stay with “Spin” as long as the show remains on the air, or for four seasons — whichever comes first. It’s expected that Sheen will play a New York City deputy mayor, as Fox now does.
Twentieth Century Fox Television had been in negotiations with Sheen to topline a one-hour Fox Broadcasting Co. drama from “Cupid” exec producer Rob Thomas (Daily Variety, Feb. 17). Those discussions ended Thursday, clearing the way for Sheen to accept the “Spin” role.
Sheen’s deal was brokered by ICM.

Charlie will be going up against the second half of West Wing, his father's show. Doesn't matter to me. I watch Roswell.
