If you're worried that a funeral will make the Melrose Place series finale a somber occasion, you've obviously forgotten that on Melrose, nothing is ever boring or simple. The chances are pretty high that for someone this funeral, airing May 24th, is going to be more of a celebration.

Even the atmosphere on the set is kind of a party when we drop by. Jamie Luner (Lexi) is smacking people in the rear as she saunters around hugging everyone. Thomas Calabro (Michael) is taking some liberties with his dialogue during rehearsals, getting everyone to laugh. Poor Rena Sofer (Eve) is getting the brunt of some of the cast shenanigans during her scenes. "I get no respect," she laughs.

But don't let these actors fool you � they're all feeling really sad. "I feel guilty about being sad [because] it's been a good run," says Calabro. Meanwhile, Kelly Rutherford (Megan) is trying to take it all in stride by modeling herself after a notorious minx who would have fit in quite well with the Melrose group: "I'm going by the Scarlett O'Hara theory: 'I'll think about that tomorrow.'"

There is round of applause (followed by a series of intense hugs) for Rob Estes (Kyle), since it's his last day. He's not worried about what tomorrow will bring. "I start work on a new series tomorrow," he says, "It's called Outreach. I play a doctor named Cooper [who] takes medicine to the streets. I'm ready and raring to go."
