GH VET JOINS MELROSE PLACE
He recurs as both Kelly's father, Bill, on BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 and Annie's deceased daddy, Del, on SUNSET BEACH. Now, John Reilly (ex-Sean, GENERAL HOSPITAL) rounds out his tour-de-Spelling by offering fatherly advice to brothers Kyle and Ryan McBride on the February 8 episode of MELROSE PLACE.
"I play an ex-Marine - a real hard-ass," explains Reilly of his gruff character, Mac McBride. "Mac has his golden boy, Kyle, but he doesn't get along with Ryan all that well. He thinks Ryan's a little on the weak side. Kyle was the sportsman, while Ryan spent his whole life in the library. He just blows into town unannounced, and we have a few problems."
John Haymes Newton (Ryan) says that the arrival of the senior McBride will indeed spell t-r-o-u-b-l-e. "He thinks of Ryan as a girlyman for not going into the miltary and proving himself a man, like Kyle," says Newton. "This is by no means a happy family reunion."

Ryan, weak? He's gotten the better of Kyle in three fights. But then again, Kyle was drunk for two of them.
